I'm no expert but it looks like New York or Rio De Janeiro.

The Hudson river, New York Thanks, isn't that where the last scene in "25th hour" was shot?

Awesome Rano Pano, Paul Savage has done a very fine job. The artwork is amazing; some days ago I asked me how would be the cover of an album with this title and I thought it would be a picture of a city like that.

The title is theirs "This is my truth tell me yours". So is the cover. I actually really like the cover and I'm really, you know, digging Rano Pano and looking forward to the single. Just to clarify though, is it being released in the UK too or is it just a US Sub Pop release?

This is a superb tune, really plays to the band's strengths. And the production is fantastic; at a loud volume it has something of the heft of a live performance. If this is any indicator of the album as a whole we're in for a treat

Album title: Love it! Wondering where the hell it could have possibly come from, I imagined they got it from a tag on the green room / toilet wall at some dive of a club in some obscure country... or something Album songs: f**king rediculous. You're Lionel Richie for crying out loud haha! They've done silly/cute before but they were just.. smarter... 'I Am Not Batman' or 'Oh! How The Dogs Stack Up' for example. Sigh Maybe the heady days of goosebump-inducing song titles like 'May Nothing But Happiness..', 'My Father, My King' etc are over. Anyway, the music will speak for itself, right? Artwork: The gloomy, dreary and serious imagery juxtaposed against such a piss-take of an album title... that's very Mogwai Fantastic photo. Very '4 Satin' esque. Rano Pano: f**king hell this is ace. I remember when Mogwai let 'The Sun Smells...' out of the gates early before the release of Hawk, and Rano Pano bears a similar intention... to surprise, entice and excite. Rano Pano with it's doubletime beat (not unlike Sun Smells, again) sounds like Mogwai have dusted off their Big Muff fuzz pedals well and proper - the wall of distortion is so huge you can't imagine they could squeeze any more sound through the mix, and yet the drums just punch right through = brilliant production! Can't wait for more

The start of Rano Pano, one guitar coming in on the left, then the second on the right, then the third in the middle, is ace. Damn fine track it is too.

Way over here in NZ... A woman in my office told me today "i'm listening to Radio One streaming online and the DJ said he's going to play a brand new Mogwai song after the next song.. I know they're your favourite band.. here i'll email you the link".. I instantly assumed it'd be Rano Pano but listened anyway. Lo and behold Huw Stephens played the opening track WHITE NOISE. Sorry if this has already been discussed here. If it hasn't (I didn't see it on the main Brightlight news blog) then this is big news indeed!!! www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00w5nmvSkip ahead to 1:22.40 Enjoy It's a fucking brilliant tune!!!!!

I really like it, got a really cool vibe about it and sounds like a really good opener... I bet the second track will be an absolute beast!
