definitely will admit that it's a grower, and really good to hear a more up tempo rocker. really excited about this new album, all the tracks we've heard sound far are excellent. Mexican Grand Prix radio rip here: www.sendspace.com/file/imh4e9

It hit me while i was taking a shit.. is that Luke Sutherland singing on one of the tracks? Which one? Mexican Grand Prix. Who's doing the singing? Took me awhile but i'm hearing Luke..? But then again, there is that tweet saying something about miserable vocals by Stuart? But that doesn't really fit..

quite different that one. but you're right about the twit talking over the top. so thats 4 of the 10 songs that have been made available in one way or another. seems quite early for that to happen. february is still a long way away.

indeed, which is why i posted the link. Mexican GP was played on Zane Lowe the other night. I'd imagine someone has just taped it from that or maybe someone just upped the radio promo. TBH early leaks annoy the hell out of me but i think we've done ok keeping the whole record offline so far. SB You've got a long way to go to February In all seriousness, I assumed when a track gets played on radio its with the bands blessing, no? It feels like it might be a very 128kbps Mogwai Chrismas I'm afraid. I cant promise I wont download it, but I will promise to buy two copies next year okay?

PS Mexican Grand Prix - I feel like I'm playing Outrun on my Commodore 64... not bad, but I'm not feeling it yet.
White Noise I think I've listened to a hundred times by now - excellent excellent tune

None of the 'leaked' tracks have come from promos though, theyve all been radio rips or approved by the band.. I imagine the promos are watermarked, so you might find it won't leak at all, or at least not for quite a while

Has anyone received a physical promo?

more info on this release? vinyl-only? download? the tracks tacked onto disc 1, have "demo", but none on disc 2 do - not demos? remixes? karaoke versions?
looks very tasty indeed.
mogwai have never really been a band to release demos, so this is quite a change...

I really like what a few folks have done in the last couple of years - put the downloads on sale the same day the first promos are sent out to combat the idiot journalists leaking all over their trousers. Include a range of pre-order options (vinyl/tshirt/poster packages, we've all seen 'em), all with immediate download in a variety of formats (FLAC, mp3 etc). Surely this is not difficult to organise in this day and age? It also begs the question.. if the album is recorded, mixed, mastered, with artwork and everything ready to go... why hold off till February? What's so special about then? We in the Southern Hemisphere are heading into a sticky summer... we have Christmas money to burn and long car trips to beaches which can be made more enjoyable by new Mogwai sounds Re: pre-order downloads etc... yeah, bandcamp.com's interface is really tidy and user-friendly - you can set minimum ammounts - and they don't take much commission. Though PayPal are also involved in the final transaction, so it makes less and less sense for bigger bands like Mogwai to involve unnecessary third parties in their potential profits. Still they could get something similar coded up for their own website and take 100% of sales. Band-approved MP3 leaks on blogs = thank you very much Mogwai. Not approved = .. hmm..RUDE.

I really like it, got a really cool vibe about it and sounds like a really good opener... I bet the second track will be an absolute beast! i have no idea why....but white noise really reeks of sine wave....in a charming way...
