I've watched the first 3 episodes which I found using a torrent search engine and also found English language subtitles that some kind dual speakers made. It's a nice show but so far they only seem to be using one or two of Mogwai's tracks over and over. Perhaps they are saving some for the second series?

Stuart also suggested that a second series is likely and Mogwai are hoping to be invited to write further music.

From what I've seen from the C4 trailers and the bits on the Review Show, this looks like it is going to be a fantastic series. C4 have not been using Mogwai's soundtrack for the trailers so, although whatever track it is sounds good. Having lapped up BBC4's Nordic Noir offerings, I hope the ad breaks on C4 don't ruin the flow.

Any thoughts on the series so far? I'm really enjoying it - great story, beautifully shot and the soundtrack is one of the main highlights (not being too biased!). It sounds like it's remixed/ chopped and changed in parts for length. The one track I wasn't sure how they would fit in, 'What Are They Doing...', has been featured so I'm guessing they'll be good mileage for the rest of it.

I'm recording it and will watch it when I get a decent chance. Recently saw "Lincoln" and was rather underwhelmed, I must admit.

This is a great show. Tonight's ep featured "We're No Here" as well as the soundtrack stuff.

And as you'll know from twitter... last night featured a Mogwai TV ad. How exciting Did you see Stuart's tweet about the guardian review ^ being by Dave Simpson who's evidently changed his opinion since that dreadful live review he did years ago!

Anybody else think that Special N sounds a little like Hugh Dallas?

I really like this record and I usually listen to it when I go to bed, it is so nicely calming. I think the film would be nothing for me and it might spoil the beauty

Ok, so I just started watching this show and I must say.. it's wonderful. The music fits so perfectly, making each scene wonderfully eerie. Can't wait to see more tonight when I get home from work.

Ooh I can't imagine it without the brilliant Mogwai music. I kind of assumed they'd just use the original...dunno why...

mmmmmm-.......totally illogical....the mogwai's work for les revenants is the 50% of les revenants great atmosphere that is the big thing of this tv drama.

Why does "The Huts" intro remind me of Portishead's "Over"? Probably pure coincidence but just a thought. Just saw the first episode and I liked it a lot! It's beyond coincidence really.. first off lemme say these guys did a great job with the soundtrack. I like it, and the show. But I'm amazed I can't find more online regarding The Huts / Portishead. It's a complete ripoff and I don't see credit given (or taken) from either side on it. It's odd, especially since Barrow is famous for getting upset about that stuff. It's undeniably taken from that song, whether it was a conscious decision or not.

nah, Stuart did discuss it on twitter at the time - he was sort of 'oh no! I didn't see it' mortified IYSWIM, and Geoff joined in the conversation IIRC, and it was all very good natured and 'imitation is the highest flattery' kind of thing.

Had the opportunity to watch the first two episodes of the second season at Toronto International Film Festival. Happy to say that the vast majority of the score is brand new, very little reuse from the first season. Similar in tone, maybe a bit more strings and piano focused, but difficult to say. Eagerly waiting for the soundtrack to come out.
Without giving too much away, the second season has established that the Returned (including those that were taken away at the end of season 1) have established a camp on the other side of the lake, which has supernaturally become impossible to get to by land....

Can't wait for Season 2, lucky you caught some : )
Glad they are doing the soundtrack again!
I'm a big fan of Nicolas Jaar; he was originally set to do the US-version soundtrack, & I was really excited!
He eventually left due to creative differences. I'm glad, because the US version of this show wound up awful IMHO.
