I bloody love the Albert Hall- saw the zidane show there, I’m already anxious about getting tickets. A gentle afternoon pub crawl around the overpriced craft beer purveyors of the Northern Quarter followed by Mogwai.... feels like a good plan.

Mogwai are one of my favourite bands but I've never seen them live before. Missed out on the Brudenell which I was gutted about because it's fairly local to me. Managed to get Manchester tickets on pre-sale. Can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to this gig.

Bristol - Colston Hall added - 3rd Feb
Any more to come? Let's hope no-one booked tickets for Manchester in the pre-sale this morning because they thought there were no shows further south.

Let's hope no-one booked tickets for Manchester in the pre-sale this morning because they thought there were no shows further south. Seems they did, unfortunately. Mogwai's booking agent needs a kick up the arse. The initial Twitter announcement of the Bristol show was deleted after folks started complaining about having already booked for Manchester in follow-up comments.

Hmmm, I'm wavering about the Newcastle gig, just in case they announce another Scottish gig in the next few days

The initial Twitter announcement of the Bristol show was deleted after folks started complaining about having already booked for Manchester in follow-up comments. To be fair I think the original announcement was deleted because there was an error on the image (it said 2017). Being in the Midlands it's about the same distance to Manchester and Bristol. I've got tickets for Manchester but I may try for Bristol as well.

I was half tempted by Newcastle but it’s a school night. Manchester or Leeds are best for me being in Yorkshire. I would travel on a weekend but doubt we’ll do Bristol.

I'm also in the Midlands, but presumably further south than you because it takes at least twice as long to get to Manchester from here as it does to Bristol.

Manchester and Bristol are equally difficult to get to, but I could have done without taking a day off work. Similarly, I wouldn't have booked Glasgow had I realised that Brixton would be announced a few weeks later. Oh well; 4 Mogwai gigs in the space of 6 weeks.... I'm still going to be a bit annoyed if they announce a date in Cambridge or Norwich in the next few days.

Not been on here for ages, so pretty out of the loop. Watching the 6Music Live show now - who is on drums? Is it a permanent thing?

Good news, the excellent Out Lines are supporting on all the dates on this tour with exception of the 4th February.....
I'd highly recommend getting there early to catch them........

I like Cat's drumming style. It's simple - almost brutal - but very effective. Is Martin's absence related to the injury that caused an early finish to the Leeds gig?

Is Martin's absence related to the injury that caused an early finish to the Leeds gig? I don’t think so... I think it was leg cramp at Leeds and the tour-preventing-issue is his back. I think she does a great job and it’s interesting to hear the difference but I miss Martin’s style - e.g. on MFS. Seen on instagram- Cat’s doing the USA tour in a couple of weeks.

The chances of me being able to make it up to Montreal for the show next month is extremely low. I can't believe it's been 4 years since I've seen them! The live Mogwai withdrawal is killing me! but flying up to good ole MTL that close to the holiday's just isn't in the cards. I'm living vicariously through all you folks right now!

Some Australian dates being announced tomorrow it seems. I'm rather hoping that they'll include New Zealand in the announcement. Obviously that'd annoy me patriotically, but I'll forgive them if actually come over here and play. But it better be close to where I live, cause being a poor student, I can't afford to travel. So not too many conditions there Mr Mogwai-band.

Australian dates announced this morning. March 2018. 2 - PERTH, Chevron Festival Gardens, Perth International Arts Festival 4 - SYDNEY, Enmore Theatre (All Ages) 8 - MELBOURNE, Forum 10 - MEREDITH, Golden Plains
No NZ dates yet, but neither Brisbane or Adelaide either, so maybe they'll come later? Or maybe not.

I'm not so sure about multiple shows in same cities though, not sure Australia's big enough to justify for Mogwai, but ya never know. And I believe (probably incorrectly) that Meredith is closish to Melbourne, so unlikely to be a 2nd date there, but then again, it is a festival so doesn't really count.
