it's the new d_rradio cd, seven tracks of beautiful post-rock-electronics on www.staticcaravan.org. they had a couple of 7" out last year and this is at least as good.

The new Pollard album is OK. It's nothing to rival any GBV stuff, and it's not even comparable to his first couple of solo releases... but it has it's moments. Nothing jumps out as "amazing" just yet.
Keep in mind this was the first time listening to it, so it'll take a few more spins to get a real good feel for it.

Overproof Soundsystem - Nothing To Proove Nothing To Proove is the debut album from the Birmingham-based Overproof Soundsystem. The soundsystem consists of Jah Grizzly & Stallion from G-Corp, vocalists Ras MC T-Weed and Juggla, and the Mighty Magoo on percussion.

I still don't think GBV have done anything to touch the all round brilliance of Alien Lanes and the tigerbomb ep. Both unrivaled in their genre IMO

Alien Lanes and the tigerbomb ep no, no, you're wrong AGAIN. Alien Lanes is good, but Bee Thousand is better.

"i'm a scientist" is very good. they're one of those bands who have stone-cold classics littered through their back catalogue. sadly, their back catalogue is so huge that no-one can possibly have heard all of it.

People... it's obvious that 'Under the Bushes, Under the Stars' is their best album!!! Just got done listening to their new one, 'Half Smiles of the Decomposed'. Very, very good. Sad that it's so damn good, and yet their last album.

isn't there a compilation album or greatest hits album by gbv?

I still wish that they had produced a lot of the early stuff better. Many gems buried in too much Lo-Fi and yeah, Under the Bushes is a good un. Always found Bob Pollard to be a slightly disappointing frontman when I've seen them live.
