So far:
january 2012 20 thessaloniki, greece block 33 21 athens, greece fuzz club
february 2012 16 brussels, belgium tour & taxis
may 2012 26 london, uk alexandra palace
There's the US make-up shows to add.
I wonder how much touring they're intending doing. Can't see them being on the road much beyond the ATP show in May, if previous form is anything to go by. But the summer festivals do seem to be very lucrative and I can't see them turning those down, despite having done so many this year.

Hope the US make up dates turn into a mini N.A. tour! If not I might have to do some travelling...

I read somewhere that the ATP weekend will be their only UK show next year.

Some people here in South America are posting on FB and Twitter that Mogwai will be touring Argentina, Chile, and even Brazil next year, probably at Sonar Fest (I'm from Peru, btw).
Any info related I should know before I truly break down in tears and plan my next bank robbery for my next summer?
Thanks :]

Well the concert in thessaloniki last night was fantastic. They were really, really loud, the setlist had no surprises but was great note that 2 rights wasn't played due to some technical problems. and i finally got to meet them -such great lads- and have my mogwai big muff pi signed Cheers again to all of them for being so kind to me, sorry if i looked kinda retarded, i was really nervous. Cheers to the sound engineer who made this possible. i'm posting a recording of the show here, it's on rapidshare, and the quality is not hte best, but you will get an idea... rapidshare.com/files/4189470110/mogwai___thessaloniki__greece__20.01.12_.rar*post edited to reduce the size of the images*

Mogwai - US Tour 2012 Hello all and a happy new year. 2011 was a great year for us releasing our Hardcore Will Never Die album and playing 124 shows (our busiest ever). We were constantly surprised and grateful for the support we received throughout both through people coming to see us play all over the world and the goodwill shown towards our record. The only blemish on an otherwise brilliant year was us twice having to postpone shows in North America. Firstly because of a visa delay and secondly because of ill health. We can’t apologise enough to the people who arranged travel and bought tickets to see us. Both of these postponements were completely out with our control and the shows would not have been postponed if there was anyway possible to make them happen. That said we realise fully how disappointed people were who had bought tickets only to find out very close to the shows that we were postponing. In light of this we are very happy to announce the rescheduled dates along with new dates for next May and June. It will likely be the last extensive touring we do for some time so we hope it will be a very special tour. Tickets people still have for the original Boston and Washington DC shows will be honoured at the door. Thanks for your patience! Stuart Braithwaite Mogwai The new dates are below and pre-order link will be available as of 1st February at 10am local venue time via tix.concertmaps.com/mogwai/: 5/29 Vancouver, CA Commodore Ballroom 5/30 Portland, OR Wonderball Room 6/1 San Francisco, CA Regency Ballroom 6/2 Los Angeles, CA The Music Box 6/3 Solana Beach, CA Belly Up Tavern 6/8 Atlanta, GA Center Stage 6/11 Washington, DC 9:30 Club 6/12 Philadelphia, PA Union Transfer 6/14 New York, NY Webster Hall 6/15 New York, NY Webster Hall 6/16 Boston, MA House of Blues 6/17 Montreal, Canada Metropolis 6/18 Toronto, ON Phoenix Concert Theatre 6/20 Chicago, IL Metro

Seriously! hahaha! I don't think it would be so bad, if the trip to see them didn't always involve many many hours in a cramped car or train seat. But hey - its worth it in my opinion!

Slightly ominous? Or am I just paranoid? Do we know if they've got firm plans for another album?

In addition to the Bonnaroo-sized hole in the tour dates in mid-June, Mogwai's arrival in the same area of the US on the same weekend as Sasquatch would be too much of a coincidence, surely?

A bit bummed there's nothing in Ohio, MI, KY or pittsburgh as I'd love to make more than 1 show but as it is, I got my ticket for Chicago. A 5 hour drive is well worth it to see mogwai IMO.

That's at least partly why it is 57 - back in 1997, for example, Mogwai played in Bristol, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Birmingham, Leicester, Stoke, Nottingham, Derby, Wolverhampton and at the Phoenix Festival in Stratford, none of which are more than 75mins from where I live. I didn't go to all of those but I did go to most of them. There haven't been many years since when they've played more than one Midlands show, but it was easy to rack up 5,6,7,8 shows a year at that point.

Yea, on the train, its 21+ hours to get from here to Montreal - which is the closest Mogwai will ever come to Halifax. I personally love the trip though. Me, my laptop, an ipod full of tunes, a camera and a mogwai ticket. Its really all a girl really needs. I'm going to guess its all going to depend on who the band brings with them for support. If it's someone that the boyfriend really wants to see (Fuck Buttons/Errors) then I'll have no problem convincing him to go. haha. But right now I am considering going by myself...

Hell, if you're travelling all that way, surely you might as well go to Toronto too? You'd think - and I'd love! But I can't afford to take that much time off of work... So I have to be content with just the one show. Sucks, but I'll take it. Its better than nothin'!

Do we know if they've got firm plans for another album? I actually looked at this as kind of exciting, for the "special tour" comment. Perhaps they will pull out some ignored songs for the tour. I'd really like a "Superheroes of BMX" sighting in SoCal.

since it just popped up on my mp3 player, has mogwai ever done their cover of "don't cry" live other than the peel session it came from?
