Everyone has one, I'm sure... I run a website based on my local music scene, so I love hearing about underground, local gems that, unless I lived in the area, would never know anything about! So tell me all about your fav band from your neck of the woods. Mine is Kuato. Formed right in the heart of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Its Halifax instrumental rock at its finest, in my opinion. Facebook: www.facebook.com/kuatobandRecordings: kuatoband.com/My Live Recording of their Messtival set: noisography.bandcamp.com/album/kuato-live-messtival-08-13-2011I am actually headed out to see them tonight. Best part of a Kuato live set - seeing guitarist Adam Toth screaming into his pick ups! Amazing! So tell me about your local favs!

It used to be Shink and Noise Bitch (Maidstone/Medway area) and Bossk (Ashford, Kent), but none of those are around now. Yndi Halda are from Canterbury, so it'll probably be them.

Well, the only band from Helsingborg (Sweden) that I'd like to credit is the band Souls which debut album "tjitchhischtsiy" was produced/recorded by Steve Albini. They later opened for Bush on a American tour, released another album and dissolved later.
They kinda sound like a mixture of Refused and Fireside but with a female singer.

I've got that album - bought off the back of a series of good reviews at the time, I seem to remember. I have to admit I haven't played it in years, I should dig it out.

It's a shame they broke up, they definitely had more albums to make if you know what I mean.

considering I now live in a small town of 1200 people in the middle of nowhere, there's nothing here. where I last lived is a name synonamous with new zealand music, so i'm not going to be original, and just plug my favourite recent Dunedin export. Die! Die! Die! have been around for a while. they have played all round the world and supported some good bands. and I know the lead singer is a Mogwai fan as i traded some live shows with him many years ago. diediedieband.com/www.facebook.com/diediedieband

Sheffield has a great heritage, though. The Human League, Heaven 17, ABC, AC Temple, Cabaret Voltaire...

Brainbow from Columbus, OH released one album and are VERY good (although much like many post-rock bands, the album didn't really capture how amazing they were live). I haven't seen them play recently so I think they must have broken up.

Can I promote my own band and the single we are putting out? If so; www.soundcloud.com/fallingstacks/huskyOtherwise for my glorious city of Bristol, Spectres and Olo Worms are both really great.

There is, or was, a pretty good metal band near me. They're call The Deep Blue, and play doom-type metal. They have a couple of good releases, both via Church Within (I think).
Sent from my GT-I8150 using ProBoards
