£12 Concession tickets for those who live in Greater Manchester and are on low wage.
I got made redundant but live outside of Manchester. Wonder if I count?

I was wondering that, in fact I tweeted them to ask. I live about 10 miles from the Lancs border... To get the discounted ones you have to ring the box office so I assume they'd tell you then. THere is a limited allocation of these. But concessions prices are £20, so if you're on jobseekers (or student/disabled) you get that. Sorry you got made redudnant

Jesus. Sadly there is no way I can come up with the funds to head across the pond in time for this... But holy hell, I bet you THIS will be a hell of an event. Just so that you know, I am extremely jealous of you lucky folks who get to attend.

Has anyone received their tickets for the Manchester show yet? Still waiting on mine..... Got mine about three weeks ago. (And I live abroad.) You might want to contact info@quaytickets.com to find out whether your tickets have already been dispatched.

Does anyone know anyone who wants a ticket? I can't make it to the show on account of a hastily planned trip to Germany/Lebanon. While ideally I'd like to sell it for face value, I'll basically take anything, I just want it to get used. It's for the Friday, and it's Balcony/E 79. The tickets got sent to Canada for some reason, so i'd need to know ASAP so I could send it in time.

aronhubbard Yes I might know of someone... though is it too late to get the tickets from Canada now? I'm now getting rather excited about Friday night... and also thinking that a minibreak to Cambridge in November is required, as couldn't do the whole ATP thing.

So- despite three assurances that the show in Manchester tonight would be starting at 8 (allowing me to book the last train home) they've put the show back an hour due to 'the light'. Meaning I miss most of it. Marvelous.
Hope this isn't news to anyone else. And if anyone might be heading to Sheffield after- let me know! Pretty damn furious really. It's bloody late to be making changes to be sending out an email announcing timing changes.

I heard that it was the heat that postponed it til 9. In saying that, can't remember where i saw it, but was always under the impression that it was a 8.45 start. Seems odd that it would be a 8pm start seeing as that was the door open times.
The venue was a sweat box. A great place, but hot as hell. Good old £4 cans again to keep cold.

I made absolutely sure it was 8pm start before booking the train. Asked three times. Really, really annoyed. No choice now but to miss at least half an hour, probably 45 minutes of the set.
Out of interest in what I may be missing- what was it like? How was it done? Was the Zidane album played or anything more? What does the last half hour consist of?
Sorry for all the questions- never ever left a gig early, so really annoyed that this is the first time.

Really strange that. Was it the venue who said 8pm or another source?
They didn't play anything outside of the LP from i what i know. Looking at Barry's monitor from the balcony it looked like they were following a strict timing for when to start each song. Martin disappeared about 10 mins from the end and they all slowly departed leaving Stuart who had downed tools, on his knees and having his own pedals party to see the noise out.
I think to have played anything outside of the soundtrack would have taken away from what was a disciplined and one-off(ish) performance.
Bumped into Barry later on (after a few great Brew Dog pints) and said I really enjoyed and he had a look of genuine pleasure and shock that i would be complimenting him and the band on the night. I felt that was a nice way for the night to end.

The venue and the Manchester International Festival. Told me doors, start at 8, 90 minutes set, so obviously a 10.20 train seemed more than doable.
It does sound brilliant actually- especially the last bit! Absolutely nothing I can do about it all now though- just have to make the most of the 45-60 minutes I will get to see.

We bumped into Barry& Dominic outside beforehand and they said it was due to the light being too bright at 8. The film was 90 mins long so you'd miss the frantic end but hopefully if you have an hour you'd see the ace half time montage bit. Nash - did you not stay for the encore of secret pint and helicon? (The latter made me cry)

Blimey, glad I read this - Cambridge booked! Only an hour's drive for me as well. Excellent. megatron - the Junction is a great little venue. Holds about 800. The sound's usually pretty good. Right next to the railway station, a doddle to drive to off the M11, and pubs and decent food around it too.

They did encores too? helicon? Bloody hell- I feel I've really missed out now. Got about an hour of the set. Wasn't too happy in general actually (despite the music being incredible) - was sat right in front of a massive speaker stack on the front row- couldn't see a thing. Couldn't see the screen, barely see the band. After about 15 minutes I just wandered around looking for other seats- ended up on back row. Noticed a few others doing the same. That, combined with the fact that the last minute change meant I had no choice but to leave early, made me feel really short changed to be honest. I'll definitely be writing to the MIF with my thoughts- there's no way a lot of those seats should have been sold I don't think. It's a real shame, because I thought the sound quality was brilliant, and they played incredibly, but I feel very sour about the evening that I was looking forward to incredibly.

Oh I feel for you - that's shite. I think the seating was a bit cruddy and the angles not great for some. We were on the front row of the right balcony so I sat a bit awkwardly in order to see the screen. I took a cushion too for the wooden bench! From twitter it looks like ex cowboy was an encore last night, I wonder what else they did? Looking forward to the junction gig even more now I've heard about the size and quality of it

I'm going to pretend that I never saw your question asking if I saw an encore. I think it will be conducive to my health to live on knowing NOTHING happened after the end of the film. Shhhhh.

Yeah- my seat was so bad it was almost funny- took a photo of what I could see as I was so bemused by it. Balcony seemed a good place to be.
I'm joining you in pretending there was no encore.
