Just found out, via an NME news story about their gear being nicked in Glasgow, that Twilight Sad are playing in Wolverhampton this evening, a show I would undoubtedly have attended had I known it was happening.
Bands and labels are sending out less and less frequent email updates. Does anyone have a good way of keeping on top of upcoming tour dates that doesn't involve spending hours trawling Twitter or Facebook? I'm missing too many shows at the moment from lack of info.

You didn't miss anything. The gig was cancelled the Monday before.

...presumably due to poor ticket sales...presumably because no-one knew it was happening?
Thanks, that's reassuring at least.
Does anyone have a good way of keeping on top of upcoming tour dates that doesn't involve spending hours trawling Twitter or Facebook? It seems ridiculous that, in 2014, it takes far more time (crucially) to find out who's playing where and when than it did ten years ago.

Thanks for the suggestions. I use Twitter, but my Twitter use is maybe 10 minutes twice a week? Which means I don't even see most of the stuff posted by people I follow, never mind trawling around looking for stuff posted by people I don't follow. Twitter's RSS feeds were great but they don't exist any more, and even they didn't really save me time as I had to trawl through all the social nonsense to get to the info.
