Hi All
Surprised to see there's no thread for the biggest headline slot Mogwai have done. It's this weekend at Richmond Park in Glasgow for those that don't know. It's at the The Last Big Weekend do put together by East End Social one of the organisations put together promote the East End during and after the commonwealth games.
Saturday Line Up:
Mogwai, Fuck Buttons, James Holden (Live), The Wedding Present, The Twilight Sad, Young Fathers, Swervedriver, Holy Mountain and Honeyblood
Sunday has a more dance orientated line up.
I live just round the corner from the site and will taking a stroll around there tonight. I'll post some pics of the preparations so far.
Anyone got thoughts on what kind of show they'll be putting on ?
Cheerio

My wife wandered by the site yesterday, she says they've just put up second mini marquee. Not sure what it's for but it'll certainly make the area a bit more interesting than just the big one.

Twitter seems to be suggesting the bands were great, bars terrible (90+ minutes to buy a pint?) and Mogwai playing Les Revenants tracks. Looking forward to seeing the setlist.

Yes that's about the size of it Rob! Queues were awful! My fella, queued for the whole of the wedding present's set(40mins) to find out near the end there were no veggie burgers left)
Wizard motor was the revenants tune , started with white noise, also. From memory Ut not in order Jim Morrison, werewolf, deesh, mgp, rano pano, remurdered, you don't know Jesus, we're no here, 2rights, MFS,
Barry had Juno problems and also swallowed a fly according to his twitter (my husband saw him retching! )
slightly lairy crowd, but also friendly, and there were people blowing bubbles, dancing and waving glow sticks where I was (near the barrier in front of John )

Yeah, was a great set, I think the only omission from Mrs RF was Hunted, but the rest seems bang on. Sound was excellent from where I was too.... First time I've seen Two Rights (brilliant version!), You don't know Jesus and Wizard Motor.... Slightly lairy crowd was a fair observation, mainly I think due to a number having been on the batter since 1pm, but overall the vibe was good, Glasgow people tend to be very friendly and good value for a bit of banter in and out of the arena, so wasn't too much of a problem, but it did slightly spoil the calm before the storm on MFS, having said that the place was jumping during Remurdered, which put produced a big smile from Stuart. The queues for food and drink were really bad from teatime onwards, luckily we eat a bit earlier, and had no issues with waiting, and as I was driving, the bar was off limits anyway

Yes I did have a lovely chat with some lads in the burger queue and the fellas in front me Lots of yes positivity going on too which was interesting to observe as an English outsider. I guess I was just smarting from the wasted lad who was trying to cop off with a lass he stood next to at the barrier and wouldn't shut up in the quiet bits, esp MFS
I had to semi-hug the man in front of me who was so chuffed at Two Rights being played that he exclaimed "I'm gonna greet" :-)
Oh and I had the best dance to how to be a werewolf which brought tears to my eyes it was so good

Hi Rob, the tracks are fine, I cant confirm the definitive running order in the middle section, but the beginning and the end seem about right.
I did try to zoom in on Barry's setlist with my phone when they were setting up, but it didn't come out.
Would love to see a picture if one makes an appearance, as I'm convinced there was another track listed after Mogwai Fear Satan in the encore, one with a long title (at the time I thought/hoped it was No Medicine for Regret) By my reckoning it was 10:50 when they finished so maybe it was too close to the 11pm curfew to risk another but I might be havering!

Oh Mark, don't say that! Perhaps one of the band could confirm....?
That ordering isn't right, but I'm not sure this is either, but definitely werewolf was before remurdered, and deesh followed werewolf...

I can confirm that we had to drop a song due to the curfew. We were going to play Glasgow Mega Snake after Satan.

Thanks Dominic and, if I may say nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I've still never heard it live and it's one of my favourite ones (it's on my running playlist and makes me run very fast whilst doing funny hand movements). Ah well, one day...

Thanks Dominic for the clarification (and the brilliant show!), and thanks Rob!
Shame about not getting GMS, that would have been a perfect end to a superb setlist, but regardless it was still a great gig.
