Saw Stuart do a great solo set in the Acoustic Tent at the Wickerman Festival tonight, was great to see him - I'm really hoping it was a precursor to the whole band coming in 2016 (hint hint!). Tunes included; Take me Somewhere nice Devil Rides Teenage Exorcists Cody What are they doing in heaven today? Lord Can You Hear Me I'm sure there were at least 2 other tracks, one of which was another Spacemen 3 song, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment. Also saw fantastic sets from Errors and Aidan Moffat & Bill Wells.

I've nicked your photo and comments for BL, hope that's ok.
Acoustic Teenage Exorcists sounds interesting.

No worries Rob.
As for Teenage Exorcists, it worked really well as a solo piece, and Stuart managed to retain the energy of the band version.

Two dates in Spain this weekend and then that's it for this year? Wonder when the next round of dates will be. Hopefully early 2016, although it's not yet obvious what Mogwai will be promoting by that stage.

Well Stuart might be busy with Minor Victories, so maybe some shows from them?

Something in Scotland towards the end of the year would be grand, but looks unlikely... to be fair they have played some stupendous shows both this year and last, and I've been lucky enough to see a few of them, so no complaints if they don't manage anything else this year

Good spot.
Setlist: Tuner Walking with Jesus [Spacemen 3] Cody Lord Can You Hear Me? [Spacemen 3] What Are They Doing In Heaven Today? [Washington Phillips] Teenage Exorcists Take Me Somewhere Nice You're Gonna Need Somebody on Your Bond [Blind Willie Johnson]
From the intro, it sounds like Stuart was expecting to DJ rather than play live, but the facilities were a bit lacking.

A Stuart solo recording of that quality.....very nice. Whatever the circumstances around him playing a solo set, it's quite a treat to hear..... Thanks for posting this.

I was a little surprised that no-one seemed to notice that Stuart was playing drums and guitar with Pika at her Glasgow Hug and Pint show back in July. I only noticed a few weeks earlier, and since I'm a big Acid Mothers Temple fan (I caught the amazing Pika playing drums with them in 2008 and was mesmerised by her percussion skills), went along to the show on the 15th July. There were two sets. Joe Rattray of Admiral Fallow was on bass and synth, with Pika playing guitar and singing on the first set of what I assume was purely her solo material. Stuart played drums, which rather surprised me, but he was rather good. The second set had Pika behind the kit, with Stuart on guitar. This was nearly an hour of a great psychedelic workout. The three of them were ovbiously having a great time, as it was smiles all round. It will be difficult to top this for my gig of the year. There's a fan video here. Note the incorrect date. This show was after the Mogwai Barrowland shows at the end of June.
