I listened the other day to Atomic again and thought, that melody in Pripyat sounds so russian. I remembered Sting's "Russians" with the Prokevyev quote, but knowing Mogwais feeling for melodies I am sure it is their melody (We're not here has a slight balkan touch that Giannis Angelakas might like ) But because this haunting melody sounds so much like a sad russian folksong, maybe even a dirge I wondered about russian female folksingers with that strange, squaking voice might singing this melody, like "Pripyat mine, what did the do to you" So what do you think?
