Hi youse.
Thanks to everyone in Dublin and Belfast who came down to the DJ nights at the weekend. We're sorry John couldn't make it to Belfast but he was ill and holed up in his hotel room all day. Nonetheless, we had a great time, so thanks to Michael and Feet and Robbie and everyone else who organised it.
Next up is Athens on the 21st of this month and BOY, am I excited about that.
Not as excited as I am about England being thrown out of the Euro 2004 chamionships because of the bad behaviour of their fans. That would be sweeter than the French match eh? Silly people don't realise it's just a wee game of footy. Some Low-Res pictures from my cameraphone are up on the images section under PixiesParis or something like that. Also there seems to be a Mogwai Forum (don't know address-find it yourself). I have no idea why this depresses me so much. Why do you need to discuss bands and vote for pointless stuff? It's just music. Bang!
I think it's for the same reason that he has put the comments here on the official site, amongst others. Everyone to their own opinion though. I just happen to disagree with him on this one.

i don't want to dig over old ground particularly, and as i said i'm guessing. one example i could cite would be the original chemikal underground board, which dissolved into acrimony and idiocy and was closed down.

Barry should exercise some control over his comments. It is the same with the Q&A section on the main site. Whether he likes it or not, he has a responsibility to not fan flames that take a while to put out. His football comments (again) are bound to cause some numbskulls to react. In this case, he and the band can't act like tarts and close Q & A sections down cos people aren't asking them serious questions, or abusing them. As for saying why do we log into forums, serious or not, he can piss off, has he never loved a band? I have been a Mogwai fan for years, like loads around here, good job we spend money on his music and 'fancy goods', and t-shirts, otherwise Barry wouldn't be able to afford his beloved vocoder, and make songs like 'Robot chant'...

I think he's entitled to express an opinion. In my experience, they're a generally good-humoured and tolerant bunch, so the level of abuse they were getting through the Q&A must have been pretty heavy. I think we probably need to leave this alone now.

Hello All. Burns speaking. These comments by "Tracy" are precisely why I don't like these sort of web pages. Firstly, I have NO responsibility to keep the peace and furthermore, we can act however we want to on our own website (people will do the same on this one!). You can piss off Tracy. You don't pay my wages, that's the record company.....we wont recoup anytime soon so your comments are wrong. If I had a pound for every over-serious, uptight and humourless mogwai fan, then I'd really be raking it in. We don't choose who listens to our band, but we certainly have a right to put the boot in whenever we feel the need. It's two way traffic. Forget about the opinions of the members of the band. You have the choice not to go to our website, just like you don't have to watch Channel 5 on your TV. We are primarily a band, so just listen to our music and shut up! Aaaaahhhh. Catharsis.
