dont know if there has already been a thread about this but just wondering why the hell the 'T.M.S.N' full length documentary made about mogwai (rock action era) hasn't been released on dvd/online, i know a couple of people who were lucky enough to see one of the few screenings and said it was brilliant,
surely all mogwai fans who go mental for this? does anyone/band members know why? a petition is in order.
who agrees eh?

No, I don't think it has been released in any form. But you can find some clips in the 'Happy Songs' electronic press-kit. Someone on a blog I frequent has posted a mp4 27mb version of the press kit for download, if anyone is interested: community.livejournal.com/postrockxchange/465089.html

I´ve never seen this & would quite like to - good call. This was also shown on Channel 4, no?
Anyone with a VHS/DVD/mpeg even copy?

I've got the Channel 4 broadcast on VHS - very good it was too, especially the bits of Stuart talking about hologramatic flocks of birds. Although shame about the Dial: Revenge biy being dubbed. Anyway, this only seemed to be around 10-12 minutes if my memory serves me right. How long was the full version and where/when was it screened? Also, was there anything on the EPK that wasn't on the C4 broadcast?

The full version is about an hour. From memory, it was screened a couple of times in Dublin, and I saw it at the Mogwai/Kling Klang/Part Chimp show in Brussels, May 2003. Presumably it's been shown in Glasgow (and London?) at some point.

An hour? Wow. I wish they would get over their fear of releasing bad product and just let it out. We can decide what's good or not surely. It couldn't cost that much to sell DVDs or whatever from the website can it? I was so happy to hear they were going to compile a DVD and then to find out they didn't want to do it due to lack of good footage... gah. I don't care if it's 'bad' I still want it! It's like I was listening to a bootleg of Ex-Cowboy yesterday - really messy start and first noisefest, but the second crescendo was sublime. Now if Stuart and the boys had their way, would this recording never be heard? I dunno, maybe it's just not feasable to release stuff unless it's top notch and gets good reviews. I just wish we had more footage. They don't even put new live clips on the website any more - the last ones were put up start of 2006 and weren't even musical - didn't have sound for me either. Anyway, this is starting to turn into a rant - and I'm not angry, just frustrated. Can't really complain given that we've had 3 albums (including the Fountain) released in the last year. No, I don't think it has been released in any form. But you can find some clips in the 'Happy Songs' electronic press-kit. Was doing some digging through the old Mogwai websites- anyone know anything about this 11 minute documentary? I know 'Take me somewhere nice' might see the light of day sometime (future Rock Action boxset?) but haven't heard of this one before
