After waiting for ever and ever, it looks like I may finally get to see Built To Spill next year. First UK dates since 2000 are filtering in, ATP and a show in Nottingham so far.

You won't be disappointed! I saw them last July in Salt Lake City. It was incredible! If you have never seen them, you need to!

After seeing Built to Spill again last weekend, just curious to see how they were when you saw them in Europe. They put on a great show as always here.

I saw them at the Mousonturm in Frankfurt this year (27.05.). Good show. My hightlights were Strange, Traces, Goin' Against Your Mind and the almost 20 minutes long encore (Broken Chairs).
strange traces reasons virginia goin' car made up dreams carry the zero NNFU in the morning you are gone the plan stop the show _____________ broken chairs

Did you record that one? Just curious, as someone who lived and spent some time in Frankfurt, and recorded a few gigs there.
So what do people recommend as albums by Bts? I saw them recently and they left us very impressed.

No, I didn't. I just managed to obtain one of the setlists after the gig.

So what do people recommend as albums by Bts? I saw them recently and they left us very impressed. My two personal favourites would be Perfect From Now On and There's Nothing Wrong With Love. A good contrast too, as PFNO is the full-on heavy rockin' BtS and TNWWL has some great lighter tracks. That said, some of the highlights of the live show you saw would undoubtedly be missing with only those two albums.

"Perfect From Now On" is my personal favorite. "Keep It like A Secret" is probably the most popular and has the catchiest songs. The new one isn't bad either. PFNO is definitely the most rockin album. Next to that album I would recommend "Ultimate Alternative Wavers"

i tend to prefer the early stuff... "ultimate alternative wavers," "there's nothing wrong with love," and "the normal years" (collection of early singles)...
aside from those the "Live" CD is also amazing....
also check out "the halo-benders" for more doug marsch awesomeness.

Unbelievable show. Really exceptional. Loved Dougs plain t-shirt, to black work slacks, to slip on work shoes combo!

Pretty standard Doug attire. The show I saw this summer had Doug wearing a t-shirt a couple sized too large, black slacks that were a bit short, and slip on brown shoes. Sometimes he looks like a 40 something year old street person. He is such an unassuming rock star. All three guitarists are amazing. I always leave their shows feeling inadequate as a guitarist.

I saw BTS again a couple of weeks ago. It was a solid set and they sounded tight as always. My only complaint was Brett's wah was a little flat (he was palying a Crybaby. The last two times I saw them he was playing a Vox). The band that opened up for them was amazing. I don't know if any of you remember the Meat Puppets (of Nirvana's unplugged album fame). Great band. They gave BTS a run for their money.

Speaking of Built to Spill and Pitchfork. There was a Built to Spill webcast from Pitchfork Music Festival in mid-July. I only noticed it the day after the show was webcast.

If anyone reads this thread, is a Dimeadozen user and hasn't already noticed, there's a flood of BtS masters being posted up at the moment, some great recordings.
