rockact32 - Trout: Norma Jean EP out NOW Available on fantastically heavy pressed 7"... www.myspace.com/troutglasgowFormed in the early-90s in Glasgow, Trout are one of the city’s most enigmatic bands. Emerging from the same scene that produced the likes of The Yummy Fur and Mogwai their unique blend of psychedelia and pop twinned with the lyrical wit of frontman William Rogan has ensured their place in the linage of cult bands Glasgow has produced is certain. Counting fans such as Franz Ferdinand and nearly every other influential Glasgow band among their ranks, the 7” is short but sweet, it’s a ramshackle thrash through an avant-garde world of psychedelic garage tipping its hat to the likes of 13th Floor Elevators and the odd Nuggets box set along the way while still managing to sound unquestionably “a Glasgow band”. Tracklist: A. 1. Norma Jean 2. Lying Face Down B. 1. Sugar and Salt 2. Atlas Family Brew Buy direct from Rock Action: www.resonancestore.com/rockactionor available from independent record stores and also online. www.boomkat.comwww.normanrecords.comwww.roughtrade.comwww.juno.co.uk

Normally this ain't my kind of thing, but it's not half bad. Initial impressions of the first track was a bit shaky - I though it was something like Kings Of Leon covering The Fall. But it got better. Yeah, a good one!
