Only six? I presumed they played here a few more times before I moved here, but seems not. I was at the last four of those though.
Big Mogwai town.

I dont know, but am fairly certain there is another one in Glasgow, but I could have just assumed that from the song title. Someone round here will know.

More boats should be turned into clubs! You are right there. Thekla is superb, and seems to have a great booking agent these days as everything half decent seems to be on there. We are lucky to have it. Are there any other boat venues anywhere? Must be a few surely?

Are there any others from the United States on this forum?
What I have found is that Americans don't take to Mogwai well. I have introduced the band to tons of people, but none of them have really locked on yet. In this country we are so use to mindless, horrible, mainstream crap that when people hear Mogwai they just aren't use to it, and push it away in favor of the garbage that is popular here.
I have never left the US so I don't know how it is anywhere else, but Mogwai will never be popular in the United States.

I'm from Salt Lake City, Utah. Mogwai doesn't do too bad here. When I wear my Mogwai t-shirt, a couple of people usually say something to me. The other day a girl working at Subway saw one of my shirts and said "I love them, i was listening to Rock Action yesterday." And she was cute too. It was strange. But I will admit people around here tend to prefer Sigur Ros (hurl) or Explosions (ok). Mainstream crap is popular everywhere you go, not just the U.S. I'm amazed at some of the pop music that comes out of the UK.

I have suggested Mogwai to many big Explosions fans, but they don't seem to catch on. I really do like Explosions, however. Don't really care too much for Sigur Ros - annoying voice.
