Isn't Bristol where the Christmas Steps are? I'm from Liverpool, where I believe Mogwai have played 4 times.. There is certainly a Christmas Steps in Bristol, in fact I just drove past it. I dont know, but am fairly certain there is another one in Glasgow, but I could have just assumed that from the song title. Someone round here will know. i once read on the q & a thing on the band's website that that place in bristol was where they pinched the title from. as for me despite living for three years in manchester not so long ago, i was born and now live crawley. a place famous for giving the world the cure and the acid bath murderer. its an alright, practical, sort of town. not much mogwai love per capita though (i could propably count on my hand the amount of people who like the band on my hands and a fair few of them have moved to london to live their lives like an episode of nathan barley). however, its ridiculously easy to get to and from gigs both in london and brighton so i'm not complaining. in fact, i've got home from london shows quicker than londoners who are still messing about with tubes and night busses.

I'm sure Crawley is not the same since they closed Silverscreen down. The Mogwai love per capita fell after my tenure there was cruely ended. I did try and spread the love by subjecting the customers to Mogwai on a reglar basis although, as you will probably understand, I was fighting a loosing battle.

Are there any others from the United States on this forum? What I have found is that Americans don't take to Mogwai well. I have introduced the band to tons of people, but none of them have really locked on yet. In this country we are so use to mindless, horrible, mainstream crap that when people hear Mogwai they just aren't use to it, and push it away in favor of the garbage that is popular here. I have never left the US so I don't know how it is anywhere else, but Mogwai will never be popular in the United States. I think everywheres like that, is in this country as well, full of people saying music is my life...my favourite bands are the ting tings and razorlight. Im from Central Scotland btw

I'm in Elderslie, Scotland, a small village which is basically attached to Paisley, near Glasgow.

Least we've gotten Arab Strap out of the bleakness that is Falkirk. Its good Stirling having a multiplex now, means I never have to go to Falkirk now

Bloomington, Indiana
I was desperate to see Mogwai in Chicago. I hope they come back in 2009.

I'm on the crappy ole East Coast of Canada, Halifax to be specific. There is a good bit of Mogwai love in Halifax. No bands ever tour to the East coast of Canada though... so a 14 hour drive to Montreal is in order when the guys hit this big ole Country next year!

If it helps I will be hitting that part of the world this year, and could maybe find an open-mic night and play a really bad ham-fisted version of Xmas steps on an acoustic guitar for you if you like?
