Nothing from "Hawk" at all. Nice setlist though.

Great setlist. I'd stick Scotlands Shame in, maybe replacing Hunted By A freak, but pretty good.

Mogwai were massive last night in Stirling. What a tiny tiny venue. My shins were wedged against the stage the whole set. HWNDBYW tracks were awesome live - generally very upbeat. Please have a look at my pictures here at Flickr - www.flickr.com/photos/gravemaurice/sets/72157625920304584/ I nabbed Stuart's set list and got a HWNDBYW shirt and another tote for a gift. The only other merch were some baby shirts.

Yes it was a 12 string beast. He used it on about two or three tunes.
Of course you can use the pics if you want. Be good if you could credit them to my Flickr page if you can.

Just got back from Scotland after attending the Stirling and Paisley show. As expected, it was bloody brilliant and I can't wait for the show on Sunday. I'm really liking the new songs and how well they sound live, and there's also a good mixture of old classics too. I very much enjoyed Barry's reaction to the false start of 'Batcat' with his gesture of "Was it me?" haha.
Oh, and 'Remember Remember' were good too.

That Paisley setlist looks pretty spot on. If they play a similar set (Ithica, Jim Morrison and Batcat esp.) at either Leeds or Brixton I will be v.happy.

I'm kind of disapointed by the setlists so far. Almost the same songs they played during the hawk tour in europe. Hope there will be more rare songs for the future shows.

That's probably because with all the new tracks that they're still learning to play live properly, they'll be wanting a few they know and play really well and always sound good. I'm sure we'll get a few rarities further along the tour when the new stuff starts to 'breathe', if you know what I mean.

the purpose of this scottish tour will be to try out all of the new tracks live to see which ones cut the mustard. i'm sure by the time of the euro/us tour proper, alot of them will have been culled, and we'll be left with a core of new live tracks, along with the usual selection of oldies, plus, hopefully, some 'new' oldies.
for this reason, i hope some of these scottish gigs get recorded, because it may be the only time we get to hear some of the new tracks played live.

They may prove us wrong, but Mogwai don't have a particular track record of adding more songs into setlist rotation once they're out on the road. Lack of rehearsal time and all that. I reckon the 7/8 new songs plus a few of the regular oldies could be the way of things over the next few weeks. Not surprising, given that they're promoting the new album.

Any recordings from the 2011-tour? I´ll try to rec. one in april ;-) Nothing yet. Scotland's always been notoriously lacking in tapers, sadly. The Glasgow show will no doubt be well covered by a few folks, but I'd be surprised if there's anything much around from Sirling/Perth.

Somebody at Stirling was filming it using one of those small video recorder thingies for youtube etc. Haven't seen any evidence of the footage anywhere though.

Back home from Glasgow from the last of the 5 in a row Mogwai gigs. 700 miles , 700 decibels, new friends, dead foxes, king kong, chats with the band, curry with Barry, manic aftershow dancing, blagging entry, dodgy Stirling Mcdonalds staff, dodgy Paisley bars, dodgy Perth suicide balcony jumper and loads and loads and loads of awesome music. Loved every bloody minute. bring on Edinburgh!!!!!!!

Didn't think, and certainly wasn't hoping, that Death Rays was gonna be the least played track off the new album, oh well, that might still change. Best song on album IMO. Rather hear it than say Friend of the night.

Too raging to cheers is yet to be played no? Maybe they are working the kinks out. Hope they get played - two of the standout tracks from the album!
