You can select more than one era. Cheers.

They sound like Coldplay without lyrics now. Wanna get their music on the films do they? Why not just join the illuminati and get yourself a spooky cloak.

If we are talking about albums, for me impossible to choose. Every album has standout tracks that are as good as the standout tracks from any other album.
From a live show point of view I would have to choose 2001-2002 because they were still playing punishingly loud :-) my ears are still ringing from some of the MFMK performances back then....

First saw them in 2002, and so picked that era. Superb live and I absolutely love Rock Action too.

Hmm, tricky, this. I ended up voting for 1997-2000, primarily because "Come On Die Young" is my favourite Mogwai album. But really, every single period listed has plenty to recommend it, with some immense tunes throughout.

i would like to merge rock action with happy songs, and mr.beast + hawk. On the mark. I probably like the RA>HSFHP tours above all else as it was the bridge where they perfected the merger between the earlier guitar-heavy stuff and the mid-period ummmm.... whatever the mid-period stuff can be described as. Still, my usual answer to this would be 'Right Now!', but I haven't been able to get into the latest record much at all (for the first time with them), but I'm sure they've got lots left in them.

I still think that Hsfhp is my most loved Mogwai's Lp, and third best of whole mogwai's discography, because of the reasons that ryan wrote above. The synthesis of my love for this recording is into the perfect duality of songs like "Ratts.." or "I know you are...".

97-2000: First time I saw them live and CODY is the best record for me.
