Hi all. For anyone who's interested, Part chimp have come off their hiatus and are playing a few gigs - Bristol exchange tonight and Manchester Roadhouse tomorrow. Both gigs with Hey Colossus supporting who if you've not checked out, you really should.
Also London Friday 5th Dec at The Lexington with Henry Blacker.
Earplugs at the ready.

Yeah I spotted a 2014 show on YouTube, some small festival gig, playing as a 3-piece. Tim has been playing drums for Hey Colossus recently, and I think he's also involved in Henry Blacker (could be wrong about that, mind).

Would love a new record, while they're about it! Also wouldn't mind some news on that second Drumm Chimp album.

I might be having a catch up with them before the Manc gig (put them on a couple of times a few years back) so hopefully find out. Can't wait tho, been way too long.
Tim isn't in Henry Blacker btw, its a couple of the guys from Colossus plus one of their brothers. Cracking album from earlier this year, plus heard a few new tunes when they played the raw power fest a few weeks ago. Sounded great.

Unfortunately didn't run into any of the Chimp gents as was running late. Can report however that Colossus and PC were both stunning. The new Colossus tunes in particular sounded superb. Had a massive shit eating grin on my face throughout the entire Chimp set, that noise man.... THAT NOISE!

Thanks for the update. Saw HC once in Margate, and they were great. PC have been fantastic each time I've seen them.

For anyone who may still be interested, Part Chimp headlining the Sunday night of Raw Power festival last weekend in May. Have been to the Raw Power fest the last 2 years and is always a cracking weekend. Great line up this year. Here's the instructions - babayaga.ticketabc.com/events/raw-power-festival-4/

Would love to go, but may not be in London in time. I'll be in town for much of that week, doing family stuff. But I will be seeing Shellac at Koko on the Tuesday.

My friend Jamie Robinson recorded this at The Star & Garter the night before the Raw Power performance. It ruined me...!!!! Was so good!

Absolutely. Very good news indeed. There's also a track on the God Unknown split series. I forget the name of the other band, but you should be able to find the tune on Bandcamp.

I'll hold off and hope that becomes available to buy digitally once it sells out - really don't need to spend a tenner on a two-song 7".

The new album is rather excellent. Mapoleon is a fine fine tune.

Agreed that the album is a great listen, but it seems to have hit a mad rush of good records in the last few weeks (Bardo Pond, Forest Swords for starters) and keeps getting bumped from the CD player after a couple of plays. Looking forward to seeing them live at some point soon. There's also a track on the God Unknown split series. This is now available digitally via Bandcamp: godunknownrecords.bandcamp.com/There's a digital compilation of all the tracks from the singles series too.
