Absolutely love them, bought Yoshemi when it first came out but didn't really listen to it, love it now and The Soft Bulletin/At war with the Mystics - as good as it gets, so uplifting.
Anyone else a fan? Is there anything else by them I should be checking out?

Get 'Clouds Taste Metallic', the album before The Soft Bulletin. I listen to this more than any of their more recent records.
I've gone off them a bit, I have to admit. The last album was rubbish, particularly all the aimless intrumentals. The live show is a deeply impressive experience but loses its shine after too many viewings. I saw them do it at Bowlie (1999) and was totally blown away, I've seen them about half-a-dozen times since and it's been getting a bit wearing.

i'm a fan of "soft bulletin" and "the other one from 2002 with a weird title in it". i finally saw them last year in denmark at a amusement park so the volume was low. "race for the prize" wasn't that exciting because of that but it left me wanting to see them again. the video screen when they played that led zeppelin cover was funny.

i probly shouldn't post here because i'm not a fan at all. it's not that i don't like the records, it's more that a live experience has made me very much an non-fan. i got taken along to see them at hammersmith appollo in 2005 and was appalled. i wanted to leave the gig but i went with people who absolutely loved it, so couldn't. i felt they were less a band and more a circus act. the music was so secondary - the main attraction was the antics on stage. it felt very gimmicky to me. i'm really suprised to hear that they're still doing that kind of thing, and that people still enoy the shows...
but each to their own.
