I figured it was probably easier to start a new thread for anyone who has any photos, videos or reviews from the 2011 tour. So post away! Here is the video I promised - The entire encore from the Montreal show on April 25th. and the photos can be found here:www.flickr.com/photos/tnaugler/sets/72157625433267523/

yea, I am uploading the audio as we speak... its not the most amazing audio you'll ever hear, as we only had a pocket recorder, but it's not that bad in my opinion. I've heard worse.
There was some major clipping at the beginning of some of the songs that we tried to iron out a bit - but its still there.
I'll post the link as soon as I get it up.

Great photos! This photo caught my eye: www.flickr.com/photos/michaelz1/5713424365/in/set-72157626581353571/Any idea what song this was? The point of interest is that Barry is playing bass. Judging by the chronology of the pics, and the fact that Dom is on guitar, I am thinking Rano Pano, but Barry normally plays keys during this song. Anyway, just thought I'd put it out there. My knack for this sort of observation really doesn't keep me up at night.... I swear......

Here's Rano Pano with a grinning Barry on bass, introduced by Stuart as the "Barry on bass because the keyboard's broken version" - this was Portland, but presumably the keyboard was still broken I reckon it sounds better with 3 guitars & bass, but isn't there still some sampled keys in there (@4:22), or are my ears deceiving me?

Funny vid! Yeah that all makes sense now. There are def samples playing ,and I would assume they are from John's laptop, which he refers to as "Mogwai Karaoke". As ruthless as this tune is, both times I've seen it live I felt that the bassline from the synth was being buried by the wall of awesome from the guitars. I imagine the bass hits right in the chest in this version. I wonder if they will perhaps continue to play it this way. It def suits the song to have all 4 up front, and as we can see, the karaoke machine can handle the synth/sample department. At the least, it will allow Barry to really develop his bass-face.

Hey guys. My first post here. Saw the Stubb's show in Austin last night. Here's a list of songs I'm pretty sure they played. I'm not as familiar with the new album as I should be...
White Noise (opener) Jim Morrison Mexican Grand Prix Travel is Dangerous George Square Thatcher Death Party You're Lionel Ritchie 2 Rights Make 1 Wrong Letters to the Metro Mogwai Fear Satan (set closer) Auto Rock (encore opener) Glasgow Mega-Snake (encore closer)
There were a few other songs in there, but I didn't recognize everything. I thought one of them was CODY, but now I'm pretty sure it wasn't. Great show though.

The Dallas show was great! The setlist didn't seem to vary much from what they've been doing on this tour so far, which was fine with me. The new stuff was incredible, and the inclusion of Satan and 2 Rights made my night. I was worried when I heard Martin wasn't going to make the US tour, because his drumming is such an integral part of their music, but James drumming was almost spot on, except for a couple hiccups here and there, and his energy and enthusiasm was fun to watch. As far as the crowd, I did find the talking somewhat distracting compared to the 2008 show, but I'm not sure if is's because last time I was right up next to the stage, whereas this time I decided to stand back 20 feet or so to try to get a better sound. Personally I liked being up super close better, as I felt like I was right in the middle of the band and didn't hardly notice the crowd. Getting to meet Dom and Stuart after the show was really cool, too! Attachments:

Let me start by saying that Mogwai still remain one of my favorite bands. This is the fourth time I've seen them. Although this is only the second time I've seen them in Atlanta, I think Variety Playhouse (where they performed last time and several times before) is a better venue to catch them at. Maybe that's what prevented this from being the best Mogwai show I've seen. Maybe it's that a good portion of the new songs still feel like just that - new songs that are still finding their place in the Mogwai canon. With that said, one of the sure highlights of the show was "You're Lionel Richie." I'd say that tune is better live than on record for sure. If this supposed rapture was supposed to happen, Mogwai were hailing it's arrival with the sheer velocity of the segue from the quiet to loud part in that song. Seeing Stuart wrangle that jazz bass didn't hurt. "Fear Satan" is always a highlight too. The annoying crowd almost ruined it for me on this night with all the chirping during the really quiet part... you could see the band getting annoyed too... but Stuart quickly raised his hand as a cue to James and we were treated to the most pummeling second half of MFS ever. Other highlights of the show were "2 Rights," "Killing all the Flies," and "Death Rays" I'm butchering the order of the set list... but from what I can remember: white noise jim morrison death rays i know you are san pedro how to be a werewolf rano pano killing all the flies travel is dangerous You're Lionel Richie 2 Rights Make 1 Wrong Mogwai Fear Satan encore: autorock mexican GP glascow megasnake

How sure are you on this? looks very plausible. Which songs are you certain of?

I'm pretty positive on the first three and the encore. The rest are in fairly correct order. And I'm pretty positive on MFS being the last song of the regular set because the band all left the stage except for stuart and john doing some cool noodling at the end.

I've used your list on BL with a couple of minor corrections - amongst the photo set I've linked to is one of Barry where the setlist is visible and, if blown up, just about legible. It's identical song-wise, just different order.

Cool. Yeah the order was a bit foggy to me.
