Has anyone been able to pre-order "Mr Beast" yet?
I've tried plenty of sites, but haven't seen anything. I'm keen not to miss out on the CD/DVD edition.

Matador is releasing the following formats
CD CD/DVD Double LP
If you're in the States, I wouldn't worry about not getting a copy of the CD/DVD version. "Limited Edition" in the US is completely meaningless.

"Limited Edition" in the US is completely meaningless. yeah, that's pretty much true...Limited Editions generally last at least 6 Months for non-major artists. Trail of Dead's Worlds Apart LE was still seen for a while after coming out

Anyone have any idea why it would be a double LP?? The version I (and everyone else) have would easily fit on a single LP with no detriment to sound. I hope there's a reason for it. I'd go with vinyl, but not if it requires changing sides every ten minutes for no reason. Also, although it's been improving a bit, Matador vinyl pressings are generally terrible. Whatever, I'll still probably end up with both CD and LP.

hopefully it will be 45rpm per side.
i thought the Matador vinyl pressings for Rock Action and HSFHP sounded good. relatively quiet.

^^^ Good point, I didn't consider 45 RPM.... I wish I had your copy of HSFHP, one mine the surface noise makes it border on unlistenable on headphones. To my knowledge it's only been pressed once, too, which makes this strange. My 'Rock Action' is from the second pressing (the one that showed up a bit more than a year ago) and it's pretty good. Still, I have about 10-12 Matador LP releases from a variety of years and a couple I would consider pretty good, a few I'd consider a bit below par maybe, and the rest downright bad. This with respect to pressing quality only, I mean.

Simbiotic, who run the band's shop, rarely have items available for pre-order, unfortunately. That goes for all the stores they run, not just Mogwai's. As I write, the new Errors EP and double 10" with Part Chimp are still to be listed. They will obviously get a stock of the album, but whether they will also hold the CD/DVD edition can't be confirmed. Sorry I can't provide any more positive news. I myself prefer to use the band's stores as often as possible, but I didn't think it worth the wait as I wanted to make sure I get the CD/DVD.

Updated: This might be of some use to UK residents wanting to buy Monsieur Beast. www11.cd-wow.com/create_member_timeout.php£10.99 for the DVD... I think i'll be getting Cat Power's new album as my 'free' one... Embdy got any other suggestions?

Preordered from BlahDVD.com for £9. I was buying the new Mclusky compilation and Errors EP too so managed to use a £2 off orders over £20 voucher, bargainous! I love the album already but it'll be a great treat to see the DVD.
