This has probably been asked before but I found that the search function of this forum pretty much sucks.. Is it known what the actual lyrics are of Hunted by a Freak? Or is it just random stuff he sings? It does sound always the same when they play it live.

Are you sure you're correctly using the search function? You have to enter for an example "999" into the "days" window where you search at "posted within the last" section. Hope this helps.

I don't know whether i can hear it or maybe want to hear it but it sounds to me like the lyrics contain the word "freind of the night" in the 'chorusy' bits. Would fit in with the animated video that accompanied it at the time with the strange guy chucking animals off the building.....

In the live version near the end I swear they sing "how do I break away" or "how do I get away". But Barry Burns has claimed there are no lyrics, it's just gibberish.

Well, I thought it was just gibberish but in the Mogwai: Burning movie you can see a couple of people sing along. Maybe they also just sing gibberish though.. Mogwai can do that to you

I've definitely been known to sing along to many a Mogwai guitar line. replete with gibberish sounds like "fling ding ding, fling ding ding" and "guh-nah, nah nah nah, guh-nah...." Drones too: "ning-ning-ning-ning-ning-ning-ning-ning-ning......" Yeah, I'm a big loser.

First time I heard the song was when they played it live supporting The Cure at Hyde Park in 2002. What became the vocal melody was on cello, and it was beautiful. There's cello on the recorded version, but it would be nice to hear it like the Hyde Park show again. (I'd also love to see them play "Burn Girl Prom Queen" with a full brass band, but that might be a bit tricky/expensive.)
