I'd LOVE a copy of the Friday 13th show.
Recordings of 10th/11th/12th and 14th are around.

Well, I would imagine they haven't migrated far from the people who taped them yet. Not me, before I get a deluge of requests.

Not audio, but video of one song - I noticed this link at Bradley's Almanac: "'Nac reader Phil was lucky enough to see one of Mogwai's many shows at the London ICA a couple weeks back, and sent me a video he recorded of them performing Like Herod. It's a pretty large file, so I'll only be sharing it up here for a few days." www.bradleysalmanac.com/blogger.html

Isaac - I appreciate that your geographical location makes it difficult to get to see Mogwai, but I remain intensely suspicious of those sites - the lack of quality control exercised by people posting shows there is astounding, and the whole thing just seems to encourage a culture of laziness.

difficult is an understatement rob. i have come to terms with the fact of never seeing them live again.
now, i'm not an expert on dime (and i haven't used any other such sites), as i've only been using it for 5 months or so, however, i think that it can be done correctly.
the only dodgy area for me is, as you've pointed out "quality control," however, this wouldn't be applicable for these ICA shows seeing as they're so recent, the only person who can realistically upload them is a: the taper, or b: someone with a 1st gen copy.
and how is it any different than receiving it in a trade from some unknown? sure, many people are very concerned with generations, but not everyone is, and if the snail-mail trading community was forced to restrict itself to a limited number of "seeds" and many "leechers" it would totally miss the point and essentially become redundant imo.
so if people do some research into what they're about to upload, and put as much information into the torrent as possible, then the decision is up to the downloader.....
but i have found some amazing shows on dime that i'd never have got thru snail, cause i wouldn't have bothered.

One of the main joys of trading (for me at least) is building up a relationship with the person at the other end of the mailbox/e-mail/whatever you want to call it. And that takes time, which in my opinion is worth spending, rather than the 'instant fix, never mind the quality' culture that sadly seems to be evolving. I am VERY reluctant to take on trades with people I don't already trade with now, because I have no idea where they got their recordings from, or what they're going to do with the stuff I send them.
