Apologies for the delay, I always go straight on holiday after EotR.
Surprised there isn't more chat about this one, it was really something. I haven't ever heard sound like that before, anywhere, let alone in a field in Dorset. You could hear the valves working their magic, the tone was unreal.
And the and were just in the best mood I have ever seen, laughing and smiling and cracking the odd gag.
I think it might be my favourite ever Mogwai show. Of 22.

It was quite something. I'd guess the gender split was close to 50/50, for starters. Crowd quiet and respectful during songs and ever more enthusiastic between songs as the set went on. The sound was really good too. As Jim says, the band were in good humour on stage and seemed happy with the show afterwards too. Lovely venue, I'll certainly be returning at some point soon.
When we got stuck behind an accident on the M5 and were still less then 30 miles from home after 2 hours driving, I started to wonder whether it was a bit far for a day trip, but I'm glad I made the effort, particularly given the likely lack of UK shows later this year.

Ah, thought i saw you there Rob. Was a belting weekend again. Batcat was certainly the most metal thing I am ever likely to hear at that particular fest - was absoltely brutal.
The visuals too worked so much better there than in small places - such a great show.
Did you see, a couple of times near the end, Stuart seem to be telling a member of the crew something, that consisted of him spinning his hands around frantically (a bit like when some has been "travelling" in basketball). Not sure why, but it kept making me laugh.

A couple of them (Stuart and Barry?) stayed on stage for a minute or so after they''d finished, pointing at someone in the front row of the crowd, too. All very good natured. Barry seemed to be well on form.
There were a couple of groups of girls stood near us, late teens/early 20s, who seemed to be very familiar with the music and really getting into the show. Bodes well for the future. Obviously there were lads of similar age doing the same thing, but you'd expect that.

Did you see/get the special Mogwai EotR screen-print? Was beautiful. No! Bugger. We spent a good 30 mins trying to find the festival merch desk but could only find the Rough Trade stall. We had to leave after we heard the words 'PIAS fire' said loudly for the fourth time in an attempt to flog a widely-available CD. Any idea who the artist is?

No not that, was a specific Mogwai at EotR poster, mainoy light blue, was nice. Amusingly when I saw you, you were walking past the Rough Trade tent - which was next to the poster place.
No idea on the artist i'm afraid.

The sort of hapless buffoonery for which I'm renowned. I didn't see you, although I guessed you might have been there.

Really wish I'd known about this, not sure how it passed me by. Turns out a couple of mates went an both have had the same conversion as me: from casual listener to fan thanks to the live experience One of them just said on FB: "ASTOUNDING" :-)

Agree with everything said - my third time seeing them this year and certainly my favourite.
I was watching from the barrier on the right-hand side and it seemed as though Stuart was having gear problems for most of the gig - lots of frowning and gesticulating to the side of stage.
I have a reasonable sounding recording that I'll upload on DIME or Archive when I get a moment.
I almost shelled out on the poster but I have the awesome MogwAi-Ai from Bexhill waiting to be hung :-)
