last night's show in carrboro was the best so far this tour for me (i've been to 4 of the 7 so far).. the sound was great and the set was also great. no complaints at all.. the now non-smoking cat's cradle is a _HUGE_ upgrade from sonar in baltimore.
it's also much warmer now than it has been. i can't remember if tonight's venue is non-smoking or not. smoking at shows doesn't bother me THAT much, but it's really nice not to come home after the show and reek of smoke or have t walk through a thick haze to get anywhere (sonar in baltimore).
the variety of the sets on the tour so far has been pretty good. they playing 6-7 songs every night and then rotating in and out another 7 per night.. 14 songs per show so far and none of them have been too close to identical.
i read that mogwai returns to the 930 club on 5/10 -- but i haven't seen 100% confirmation of that anywhere. needless to say i will be at the show.
tonight is show #5 of this tour -- i was at this venue only once before, almost exactly 3 years ago (3/7/03) and it's a big warehouse type of building.. not optimistic about the sound for tonight..

despite your lack of optimism for the sound tonight, the room is actually pretty cool. i forget whether it's smoking or not but they have a fairly nice deck you can step out on and get some fresh air. here's to hoping they play tracy, helicon 1 and may nothing but happiness...
