have anyone here listened to a mogwai song and felt that it could've been in a movie? mainly to serve as a emotional point in a scene or so? i've been listening to "i chose horses" a lot and it could easy be in a akira kurosawa film. i don't know which one or which scene. i suppose it's the japanese language that makes me feel this way. i just picture a black and white movie made in the 50/60's directed by the master that is kurosawa.
unfortunately i don't really know what i'm looking after by starting this thread. but i'd appreciate if anyone follows this idea with a couple of suggestions etc. cheers.

I agree, but can't think of any examples off the top of my head! I would've liked to have seen what would have come of the Batman score they were supposed to do (?). Maybe the Zidane film will provide some enlightenment!
I remember seeing a link a long time ago (on brightlight! ?) where someone had played mogwai over scenes from various films and found that they 'fit' ala Pink Floyd-Wizard of Oz. I thought I had the link, but can't find it.
I personally think mogwai is the perfect soundtrack to silence (if that makes sense and isn't too pretentious sounding...). Best listened to looking out of a train window looking over a landscape. helicon (live) is an example.

I had a quick search at imdb.com and found only one film under their name where they're credited as 'composer' for The Picture of Dorian Gray (2006). I guess this is the same mogwai? www.imdb.com/name/nm1912841/'I Know You Are But What Am I' appears on the Wicker Park soundtrack. Not seen the film, though.

Helicon 1 is played at the end of the movie Rock School. it's also featured in a PS1 golf game!! but going back to movies -- I'd like to think Stuart's still hoping to get the call to soundtrack the next Batman film!

The song 'I Know You are But What am I' is also used in the film Wicker Park - some good music in the film, but the film itself was pretty bad.
