Beware though, that standing tickets for the Gallery are for the area right at the top of the RAH, not the area in front of the stage. See the seating map on their website for more details

Its too late now, but I think the main standing area at RAH is a mistake.
When I saw Spiritualized there I was standing and sort of down the front, and quite frankly I could of been at any venue anywhere. The view from the seats is loads better as you get to take in the hall, and the full light show etc.
Just one guys thoughts....

Well I saw The Flaming Lips there on Saturday and I was right at the front (standing), having been seated at the same venue to see The Who. I can say without a shadow of a doubt being at the front was a million time better. There's a proper intimate atmosphere, with the unusual feeling of having a spectacular grand hall behind you. It's quite extraordinary, and you can take in the whole stage show. Unless Mogwai are planning on releasing a zeppelin into the rafters, you'll have a great time standing at the front.
