Was just wondering if someone could help me out. I was just wondering what time the band takes to the stage on a normal show night.
I'm trying to make 2 shows in one night.
The show I'm going to is May 16th Toronto @ The Phoenix
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

well, in slc. they had doors open at 8. opener went on around 9, 9:30 or so. mogwai seemed to come on between 10 and 10:30, and the show ended at midnight. dunno if that helps or not, or if there will be more openers in toronto?

Hey,
Thanks alot, just have tickets to see Tool the same night. By the looks of those times I will probably be able to make both shows.
Thanks very much

I'm considering trying to do the same thing. Usually when Mogwai plays here, they start around 11 PM or so. That is, I believe, the curfew at the Hummingbird Centre. So you should be OK, especially if you duck out a couple of minutes early from Tool. You can phone the Phoenix the day of the show and they should be able to tell you all the set times. These times often end up being a bit later than they'll tell you, but almost never earlier.
Good luck. I'm still not sure if I'll try hard to get a last-minute Tool ticket, it's tempting.

I would be nice to see both. I know the Tool show will be well worth it. Not often you get to she a band like them in such a small venue. I hope I can make it to Mogwai, maybe I'll miss a few songs which is ok.
So thanks again for the help everyone

It really depends on what time the doors are as well as the venue. If they have something going on afterwards (a regular club night) then they might go on early. That happened when I saw them last week. Doors at 7. Opener from 8-8:30 (roughly) Crew sets up until around 8:50. Mogwai on at 9ish.
Your best bet is to call the venue the day of the show. They are usually more than happy to tell you the timeline for the evening.
I hope that helps.
