There seems to be a decent crop of heavily post-rock influenced bands coming through in the UK at the moment. Three personal favourites, all of whom have released excellent records in the last few weeks, would be The Longcut, iLiKETRAiNS and Day For Airstrikes. I've had this on repeat all day and it's getting better with repeated play: Best of all, their label are selling it for 7 quid inc postage: www.roadkill-records.co.uk/Any other recommendations on the new band front?

One more I forgot, mainly because I haven't heard them yet - does anyone have the Strange Death Of Liberal England ep? I'm hoping they're not in the same vein as their dreadful near-neighbours Hope Of The States.

Been liking the Airstrike guys for a while after hearing a song called Smile Happy No Face on a High Voltage Sampler about 18 months ago, an awesome 7-8 min instrumental. Not seen them live, but all reports i've heard are very good.

awful name (why not just lift the whole sigur ros line?), really cheeseball artwork and the music is just tedious identikit fare...
