To quite a lot of them. Was nasty. The correct audience protocol for a 'Post Rock' show is complete silence, clapping is utter madness!

Saw the Glasgow show. Hmm.. ok. My friends enjoyed it more than me, but yes, the crowd was a bit more crap than last time, prob. due to the bigger venue.
I think seeing them putting on several nigh-on-perfect shows a few years back has fairly blunted my opinion of their recent output.
For those who have seen them before, I'd say you're not missing out on much. Bigger venues, crapper sound, crapper crowds, longer sets but with newer tunes which aren't as good imo. That's how I equate it, sorry to put it bluntly. If you haven't seen them, go along and be blown by their awesome live performances and hope you get a good show - you'll know about it if you do.

Well, there was no clapping at the Manchester gig (thank the Lord) but as has been said, the crowd was very large, and very crap. There was so much talking going on it was genuinely off putting. The last time I saw the band there was about 50 people there, there must have been over 2000 in Manchester with maybe half really interested in listening. EITS were good I thought, pretty standard stuff though and a little bit one paced but thought they pretty much nailed every song, I just struggled get properly into it and was glad when it finished.
I don't like that venue, the last time Mogwai played there the crowd was shit too.

I was at the Brighton show and was left somewhat disappointed although that was partly due to me getting irate at the tossers shouting in my ear during Eluvium. The concorde 2 has a huge bar area and you can see and hear the band from there so I cannot for the life of me understand why people bother standing in the venue gassing. If I was playing live I would sooner play to 5 people digging it than 500 people talking. No more gigs for me (apart from 30 seconds to mars on Monday - The wifes idea!) I just cannot enjoy them anymore.

i think i've said this here before but eits is one of only 2 gigs i've ever been too that i've wanted to leave early from. this was a few years ago, but i just found them very boring live. now i didn't expect them to be exciting or anything, but i was literally bored brainless...and the other gig i've wanted to leave from was the flaming lips, and that was for the exact opposite reason as eits....
but i haven't bothered listening to their music really since that gig....

Well, I went to Manchester on Tuesday too and I thought it was ace. I thought the big room made them sound heavier, and the crowd where I was (front of board) weren't too bad either. Not as good as being up against the stage at the end of 2005, but still a great show. Looking forward to ATP

If my exams have finished in time, this will make the greatest graduation finishing present ever.

Nah, nah, I can't. Have to wait until find out exam dates first! If it's all clear, I'd be willing to swag some last minute expensive tickets.
Although, my flatmate went down to the Nightmare before Christmas and got tickets for face price, or just a little less even, a few days before the show..
