share yours...
well, i was sitting at my pc this morning, quietly minding my emails, when i felt the strangest bass-heavy, low-end rumble shudder my legs up to my knees now i live quite near a railway line, so presumed it was just a very large train passing by a bit quick but then i heard dozens of car alarms so i went outside, and saw loads of people in various states of bed-clothing (not pretty, trust me - why are the fattest blokes always the hairiest?) the weird theories and rumours then started - gas explosion? bomb at the docks?... no, none of those - earthquake? EARTHQUAKE?! - bollocks, thought I later confirmed as an earthquake...epicentre about 5 miles south of my house (in the Dover Straits), and just as far under the surface one freaky experience, i can tell ya!

I wonder if it's done any damage to the Channel Tunnel?

none as far as I'm aware everything's running as normal the tv news is WAY over the top on this - no-one's died, and a few (OLD) buildings have been damaged - I don't think we needed every single news station down here with rolling updates
ps: was anyone else annoyed by the BBC news coverage of the Virginia college shootings last week? they were desperate to tug at the heart-strings, and this comment about one of the teachers topped it off for me "... he survived the atrocities of the holocaust of WW2, but he didn't survive today" made me sick

Yep, you're right. Sadly the number of 24-hour rolling news channels makes this all the more common. They've been hitting the earthquake hard because of the UK media's bias towards South-East England. There was an earthquake in Dudley in 2002, 4.8 on the Richter scale so more powerful than today. I think it stayed in the BBC's news bulletins for about 6 hours. The lead photo on the BBC News website made me laugh - surely this must be posed? on the subject of the BBC - Moira Stewart and Neighbours axed in the same week? It's a national disgrace!
