Yes! Apparently it's true.
MBV reunite for 3 shows in June/July 2008. London, Manchester & Glasgow are the lucky cities.
Who knows if there will be other shows, but here's hoping.
Check the All Tomorrow's Parties site for news. I'll be on the phone tomorrow 9am sharp - these will sell-out very quickly.

Given the number of 'missing' dates between shows, is it safe to assume the number of shows will increase?

And you can bet they are at ATP too - the Minehead one probably.

Or curating their own event later in the year?
Primal Scream to headline then.
Hmmmmmmmmm.
I presume it's the original MBV line-up? Shame they couldn't have used a more recent press shot for the tour poster. Maybe someone should mock one up.

Well I for one hope for some more shows, because those three sold out in half an hour.

Gutted, tried to buy tickets but they had sold in out in about 20 minutes!

Hooray! I've got a ticket to the Glasgow show, via gigantic.com So that'll be two birds with one stone: 1st time in Glasgow, and 1st time with MBV.

Good to see these shows selling out before any of the dates on that dreadful-looking NME tour next Jan/Feb. I used to go to these shows every year and got to see some good sets by bands who went on to much bigger things as a result, but the line-uos for the last couple of years have been awful.

need dates on this side of the atlantic other than the rumored coachella set. i doubt i'd go back to coachella unless it was free (not because i disliked the festival that much -- i just don't particularly enjoy festivals of that nature).

I am all ticketed up for the saturday night in London. Also, I reckon they are a cert for the Explosions ATP. Good stuff.

Hang on a minute, now MBV have reformed they could re-do the awesome (but didnt go because it came nowhere near me) Rollercoaster tour of whenever it was!
MBV, JAMC, Blur and Dino Jnr. Maybe a little swap of Blur for the also recently reformed Swervedriver would sharpen that up a bit....

Benicassim as well. That'd be a weird place to see them.

Still reckon they are playing EITS ATP and Primavera too.
But I am making that up.

Yeah, I would have said Primavera, but not now they're playing Benacissim. But depends if the promoters throw enough money at them, I guess.

Well there is an ATP stage and ATP promote their shows so there is a good chance. But yes, I hears you, seems unlikely they will play two Spanish festivals.

US shows announced for this fall. the closest show for me is NYC... on weekdays... which is 6 hours away.... @ $52..... before fees.
guess i'm passing on this.
all these ridiculous ticket prices make me appreciate bands who tend to charge $20 or less way, way more.

Anyone got a spare Glasgow ticket?
|
|
|
Post by James G on May 20, 2008 10:30:32 GMT 1
I might have a spare for the first night. Need to check and see. First need to actually get the tickets, since see tickets or whoever's promoting this have been spectacularly incompetent at organising this.

Did you order yours online James, or buy from Tickets Scotland or somewhere like that? 'Cause I don't think either of them have sent or received any tickets yet.

Tickets Scotland. You're spot on, they haven't been sent out yet to anyone.
Actually, yep I definitely will have 2 spares at least, as had forgotten a couple of my pals that were going can't make it.

sorry to go sort of off thread here, but there's a small article with MBV in July's 'Uncut' magazine which talks of a studio they in Streatham (my neck of the woods). Anyone know where it is/ was and whether it's still active? Cheers

I think Kevin Shields used to live in Streatham so it may well have been a home studio. When did they use this studio? If it was for Loveless it may be hard to pin down as they used a zillion....
