With nearly 17% of the year gone, I reckon it's time for a roundup of the best new records of the year so far. The main reason for this is that I haven't bought anything for weeks and I can't find anything I want to buy at the moment.
I'd heartily recommend these three 2008 releases: British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music? Times New Viking - Rip It Off Magnetic Fields - Distortion
The School Of Language and Vampire Weekend albums have been getting a decent amount of play too, as has the soon-to-be-released Accidental album.
Anyone else?

I don't think I'll be buying as much this year as I did in 2007! That said, so far I've enjoyed:
Pocahaunted - "Peyote Road" LP Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band - "13 Blues for Thirteen Moons" CD Nadja - "Bliss Torn from Emptiness" CD Alistair Crosbie - "Sad Faces Of The Moon" - cassette Shit And Shine - "Cherry" double LP (CD/DVD set to come)
some big names with new releases to look forward to: Portishead Boris Melvins

Fuck Buttons album out quite soon, which I'm reliably informed will be mint. You'll have to wait until the summer for Errors I'm afraid.
