Are/were any of the band vegetarian/vegan? I'm vegetarian and have been for about 3 years now. SB That's good to know. Was it an ethical or health issue? I've seen you around Mono, but d'you ever eat at Stereo/the 78/13 Note?

While playing WRC4 on the PlayStation 2 I found out that one of your songs (Mogwai Fear Satan) is in the game. Are there any other video games featuring your music?

what was that palm piloty thing you were using at the end of we're no here at the brisbane show? It's a Nintendo DS. He was using a KORG synth simulator. It's great. Hit the link for more info. www.aqi.co.jp/product/ds10/en/index.html

Once he started messing around with it, we were thinking how awesome it would be to play it on stage with his band. Thats awesome! I hope i get to see this at the Montreal show.

So, The Fountain is a slightly awesome movie, and I was just wondering - how much of the soundtrack were Mogwai responsible for? I know they collaborated with Clint Mansell and the Kronos Quartet on it, and know they played a part in the absolutely epic track "Death is the Road to Awe", but were there any other tracks on the soundtrack they worked on?
Sorry if this has been asked before.

Q for any of the members: ever heard jakob? What do you think of them? personally i hear similarities in style between mogwai and their 1998-2005 era.. they've moved into a much more ambient style now though. Bloody great band, deserve more recognition tbh

Sorry if this has been asked before. I've never heard something as "slightly awesome" before. That is great! Anyway on the ST we played all the drums and guitars as well as some keyboards. We (Barry) recorded a lot of piano as well but it wasn't used in the final mix. I can't recall specifically what songs we're on but roughly its about a third of the sound track. SB

It's a fantastic soundtrack, but now my curiosity is kind of piqued at what it could have been if the recorded piano work was used. Thanks for the answer Stu. Love your band's work.

Hi Guys,
Have you ever been approached by the Hard Rock Cafe chain to give them any guitars to display? If not, which ones would you give away?

Hi Guys, Have you ever been approached by the Hard Rock Cafe chain to give them any guitars to display? If not, which ones would you give away? Wow, what a spectacularly random question. The answer is no we've never been approached by them and i have to say i'd expect us to sell them a guitar rather than give them one in the unlikely chance of them wanting one. I'm sure they can afford it. As to what one i have no idea, probably a crap one as we like to hold on to our good guitars for playing and recording and suchlike. SB

Random is the new coherence! No worries, I thought maybe the Scottish branch at least would put a display up. They had Kirk Hammet's guitar up there once, a nice ESP one. The Rolling Stones gave them the worst Strat copy ever, that you'd probably find in Argos for a tenner! Their service kind of reminds me of 'Uncle Moe's family Feedbag' from the Simpsons: www.milkandcookies.com/link/65501/detail/

Stuart.. : www.mtv.com/news/articles/1441798/20010316/deftones.jhtml?paid=605Chino seemed well impressed with the track and excited at the opportunity to work with you guys... but he told MTV that he just received a DAT tape and was waiting to hear from you guys as he had no idea exactly what/how you wanted him to put vocals on it. The track was apparently called Cortez. Has it since been released as an instrumental perhaps under another name? Were you guys too busy completing Rock Action to follow up with Chino about this track? Come on, what an opportunity... Deftones sell millions of albums! What happened?

Nothing happened, it just never got done. I guess that they were really busy and he just didn't get round to it. Shame as the song was pretty good and also featured David Pajo and Matt Sweeney. SB

this is a question concerning the talked about re-release of "c.o.d.y". is there any possibility of including the atp show that was filmed at cambers sands on the 9th of april 2000? this is probably asking for too much but i suppose the questions is free as they say.

I haven't actually seen that footage but i suppose its a possibility. At the moment we are trying to locate the sessions form Chem19 and Cava from before we went to Dave Fridmanns. Any other suggestions are welcome but to be honest this release is nowhere near as imminent as has been suggested. SB

SB those pre-cody sessions - does that include the demos of punk rock, kappa and cody that were broadcast on the radio back in the day? i think it was on GLR radio? or are these different? the version of kappa was recorded in 1 take in a church if my memory serves me correctly...

A couple of days ago I was watching a TV special about trends in the music industry and the "new media". There was some interesting coverage about something called the "concert stick". The idea was to record all the shows of a specific band/festival in order to sell them to the fans on a limited edition of USB sticks (immediately after the end of each show). Thus everybody could go home with a souvenir from "their" shows. Is this something Mogwai would ever consider doing?

Didn't Pixies do something similar on one of their previous tours, but the gig was burnt to CD? The memory stick would be a great idea! Presumably it would depend on whether the band felt the gig was good enough to be released (in a nice way!)...they seem to be quite upfront about not releasing live material they felt wasn't up to scratch on the night. At least memory sticks can be erased and reused
