Anyone planning on recording it? I will if no one else is, but I'd have to buy a mic etc. as I've never done it before. So anyone up for it? I'm sure there's lots of people waiting to hear the new songs

Yes, someone definately needs to record this show and put in on the archive.org or a webpage with mp3 downloads or whatever.
Its amazing that so little has surfaced recently of live mogwai. No ATP 2005 even!
Hopefully someone can help all of us un-lucky lads out who cant make it to this show.
Since its an old movie theatre I bet the sound is going to be glorious and perfect for the 'gwai.
Lets make it happen!

from the official mogwai site:
We are very sorry to announce that we cannot play the concerts this week in Glasgow and St Petersburg as Martin has developed tendonitis and has been told by his doctor that he cannot play drums. We will announce a rescheduled date for the ABC show within the week when we know when Martin will be better. Anyone who can't make the rescheduled show can get a refund from point of purchase. The venue will open as planned tomorrow night to ticket holders with some of us DJ'ing and Trout and Errors playing. We hope those who've made travel plans will still have a good night even though we cant play. Apologies.

I was all ready to record it last night, but never mind. It wasn't a wasted trip, as I've planned a week's holiday around it. Hopefully I can get the time off work for the resceduled gig. For those of you that don't know I travelled from Guildford (about 400 miles). Oh well. It would've been nice to see Errors too. They let me into the free bar though. Get well soon Martin

Here's a picture of the outside of the venue for anyone interested: The inside's really nice as well, although I don't know if the bit I was in was ABC or ABC2, which is smaller, because it didn't look that big. But I didn't have my camera to take pictures inside so you'll have to trust me that it's nice.

The rescheduled gig will be 18/8 according to the official site. Which I've just realised is the day before the Green Man festival. This'll take some planning...

'Glower of a cat' and 'we're no here' are new songs to aren't they?
Also,
Playing Tracy live, is that a first anyone? Great news anyway...

Sorry, yes - 'glower' and 'we're' are new (but were played at atp), but I think 'misery' has never ever been played before live.
Tracy - not sure - I tried to do an advanced search of brightlight! to see how often it's been played live. The search didn't quite work, but I think it's not often played - I spotted four or so gigs it had been played. Rob or someone would probably know.

Cool.
I seem to remember someone from the band saying they put tracy on the music boxes because there was no way they would ever play it live, but they knew how much the fans loved it...
Nice to see they listen to the fans, it is one their best and one I would love to see it perfomed live..

I couldn't be arsed recording it unfortunately. It was a big crowd though so someone hopefully did. The first 2 new songs (glower and we're no here) sounded really good. Didn't think much of the 3rd, but it was still alright. I though Glower was quite Isis-y. They also played Like Herod as a second encore, which I don't think anyone's mentioned yet

yep folks - go and but his stuff from the mogwai online shop... the man has real talent.
I'm saving up to buy several of his prints - one of his New York series and a couple from the Water Tower set.
I'll just have to decorate the living room then...

Thank you that man!! The shop is about to undergo some radical changes (hopefully soon!) there is a lot of new images, especially from new york to go up on the page, going to integrate it with the web site a bit more! Keep your eyes peeled! Thanks again! Neale

They've tried playing Tracy a number of times and have always stated that they weren't happy with it, as I recall. I've seen them play it a couple of times, I think. It's certainly in a few 1999 setlists.
edit: maybe I should have read the rest of the thread first...oops!
