Even though it shows Helicon 2 on the setlist, they played Ithica, not Helicon 2. I'm sure of that. Rest of the setlist is accurate.

Koko
Yes I am a long way from home White Noise Master Card Friend Xmas Steps Rano Pano Auto Rock Deesh Remurdered Helicon 1 Herod Batcat
Blindingly good. Xmas Steps was fabulous (and, for once, a London crowd that pretty much shut up) and Herod was brutal. Twilight Sad were spot on too.

What about 'San Pedro'? But agree that was a blindingly good performance. I've been very lucky to hear 'Xmas Steps' twice this year live in London. Absolute joy. 'Like Herod' was a total and utterly superb unexpected surprise. And agree again that Twilight Sad were really, really good. A fabulous concert/night out in Camden, North London. Best Mogwai gig in London since the Royal Albert Hall? Discuss...

They were in top form tonight I thought. Helicon was lovely. I have to admit there were some right chatty fuckers in there last night, some buckled Ozzie guy at the back wouldn't shut up. Obnoxious prick.

Had to leave for train during Like Herod, but near the back there were some chatty loud people during xmas steps that were doing my head in. I really wonder if some people come to gigs to be seen to be there or to actually listen!
I have to say that while both bands were on great form I think I actually enjoyed Royal Festival Hall more... maybe I am just getting old and liked having a seat, but I really couldn't see that well last night... not a massive fan of Koko... remember seeing Teenage Fanclub there too and crap views at that. Remurdered is just immense live though. Xmas steps was great despite chatty people.

That run from Remurdered in particular was incredible, but the whole thing was outstanding. Quite a few tunes I'd not seen them do before which was excellent. You pretty much have to get to KOKO for doors to get a good spot. That's what we always have to do. Annoying, but doing that has improved my estimations of the venue tbh. I think the sound can be pretty ropey in there too. but it was excellent last night. I took my plugs out during Batcat to feel a bit more of the full force and it was LOUD without really losing too much clarity. Excellent. There were a couple of guys chatting over the start of all the songs up in the VIP bar (which we were stood underneath), which was super annoying, but they generally shut up during the tunes.

I took a few pictures, unfortunately screwed up the recording by not putting the hold button on and then inadvertently managed to hit the pause button after Twilight Sad, I couldn't be more pissed off because the sound was so crisp near the speaker.....schoolboy error and I should lose my tapers badge for such a mistake, rest assured there will be a recording shortly....

Wow, I'll let them off the ridiculous use of capitals as they clearly have been bitten hard by the Mogwai bug, and I too was lucky enough to hear Christmas Steps at my first ever Mogwai gig

I believe that gig was this one: www.youngteam.co.uk/brightlight/eng/gig310306.phpStuart, Martin and Dominic wore t-shirts that said "Mogwai was better before Barry burns joined" or something to that effect that a fan made.

Indeed. I'd had an operation on my left shoulder about a week before and didn't make any of the shows on that UK tour, sadly.

Unless I'm going mad, Mogwai have just played two festivals in Tokyo on consecutive days, both of which took place in the same venue - the floor plans suggest Mogwai just had to move their gear to the hall next door for today's show.
Less than 21 hours between the two stage times - last night was 3.15am, tonight was midnight.
