Yeah should be a great day, really pleased to see its going to be a full set from Mogwai, with the number of bands playing I was fearing it may be a shorter Festival type set, but needn't have worried.

I thought they were doing 1hr 25 mins, from the stage times I've seen? That's a good 15 mins less than many shows they've played this year.

Hi Rob, This year I've seen them at the Royal Concert Hall in Jan and the Usher Hall in March. The Glasgow gig came in around 1hr 30 for 15 tracks/songs, and the Edinburgh show felt a tad less than that as a result of a technical issue preventing them from playing Deesh, and for some reason they missed Ithica from the planned encore as well. The set timings on Saturday has them coming off stage 15 mins before what I assume is the 2300 curfew, so maybe there is some flexibility in there too...

Electric Picnic setlist (out of order for the most part)
Heard about you last night I'm Jim Morrison Mastercard Friend of the night Rano pano Helicon 1 Auto Rock San Pedro Ithica Deesh Remurdered How to be a werewolf 2 Rights We're No Here
Really great show- the band seemed in great spirits (they all wore slowdive tshirts as they were on at the same time). Very loud show

just bought 2 tickets for the Magna gig. For some reason I paid via Seetickets with PayPal and it gave me £10 off, so 2 tickets cost £40. Pretty good that!

Don't know what that other person is talking about- Hunted, white Noise and Hexon Bogon weren't played... tracks above were, just not exact order in the middle

We need an official source! I'm dying to know if markthom's suspicion about the last big weekend set was right...

So a single Australian date has been announced - Feb 27th. Fingers crossed they pop over the ditch to NZ. They visited in 1999 and I didn't go. Would be nice for them to come again.

Is anyone going to the Magna Rotherham show from Sheffield? If so- any ideas of the best way to do it on public transport?

Is anyone going to the Magna Rotherham show from Sheffield? If so- any ideas of the best way to do it on public transport? You want the 69 bus from Sheffield (get the train to Sheffield, enjoy a beer at the Sheffield Tap. Cross the road to the bus interchange and get the 69 from there which stops outside Magna. If you travelling through Sheffield there's no need to go to Rotherham because Magna is between the two. Alternatively, get the tram to Meadowhall south and you can walk from there (not sure, maybe a 20min walk). It's in no mans land, but then again, it's a disused steel mill!

Hope those of you going to gigs in the UK this week have a great time. I am jealous, and would have probably done Magna and Liverpool I could have, but shouldn't grumble too much as a) have seen them 4 times this year b) I got a buyer for my Liverpool ticket despite it not being sold out yet c)I'm off to sunny Spain on Thursday instead.
I would like full reports though if anyone can be arsed, Dominic wardrobe-watch etc ;-)

Is there any support for this run of gigs? Magna says doors 7.30, show starts at 8.00, which suggests one.

I also am jealous. I probably should grumble a fair bit as a) I've only seen them about 0.8 times this year b) I'm nowhere near Spain and it's not very sunny here at the moment. But anyway, I still hope everyone has a great time and the shows go well. It's good that you guys in the UK have a good run of lots of Mogwai shows lately.
