Anyone else got any thoughts on Music for a Forgotten Future? I think I like it, though it never really goes anywhere. I wish it would really kick in after about 11 minutes. I really like it too. Given that it was recorded for an exhibition, there's not much chance it was going to really kick in - imagine being stood in front of a big mound of earth somewhere in the German countryside and suddenly this wall of noise erupts I didn't remember exactly what this had been written for, but reading what little I could find about this on the web, it makes a lot more sense now. The more I think about it, the more diverse and adventurous this album becomes.

Annoyed about this delay! I was looking forward to tomorrow. Are all the amazon orders effected? Just got my shipping confirmation from amazon.

I really like the package, not stuck the album on yet. I think my favourite print is the one looking down the Hudson, the one inside the gatefold vinyl. I may have to purchase another CD though to save me wrecking the book-style one trying to get the CD out .

With today's mail the Double-CD and the shirt came ;D I will listen the CDs on tomorrows breakfast because my stereo in the kitchen has the best sound... now I have to get some good earplugs and I'm ready for the concert in Berlin...pity, that only the Sub Pop preorder sends plugs with the CD...

I've just played up to "San Pedro", and first impressions are extremely good. This is certainly Mogwai's most direct and punchiest album to date. The two singles make much better sense on the LP. I wasn't quite sure about "Rano Pano", but here it's superb. Onto "Letters to the Metro" now. Wonderful.

That's exactly what I've got. Find myself using them for anything that's not folk nowadays.

Sure I won't use my everynight's earpluggies, I thought about this one: www.amazon.de/Alpine-Music-Profi-Geh%C3%B6rschutz-silber/dp/B000NAY31E Anyway, listened today to "Hardcore will...", has Martin a new pacemaker, that they are so uptempo?! ;D They might win over some Maserati-fans that found their new one a bit too electronic... ;D But I really like it. Now I listen to the bonus CD. What a wonderful minimalistic work. The string ending brings me to tears, which happened last time at "Rock Action"'s "Dial Revenge" and "Take me somewhere nice"

PS. Decided to take your advise, just ordered the ones you recommended, because they're less expensive and easier to remove from the ear...Thanx

Don't you think these chart positions are usually reflective of how well the previous album did? (As in, I liked the last one I'm going to go out and buy this one right away)

On the album on general i think it is excellent. My favourite since CODY, and completely different to that album. The production is great and it is nice to hear the drums louder in the mix. I generally like all their albums and i really loved the Hawk is howling too. The albums i tend to rarely revisit for some reason are Rock action and hsfhp.
The songs sound great live too.
