Presumably a substantial number of tracks from the new album - Rano Pano and Mexican Grand Prix as ever-presents?
Hunted (obviously) Jim Morrison
I'd be pleased to see I Love You and Scotland's Shame survive the inevitable Hawk Is Howling cull.
A couple of long-dormant tracks to be dusted off, at least for the early shows? I reckon the likes of Acid Food or Folk Death could be on the list. Kappa maybe? Helps Both Ways? Stop Coming To My House?

I left out stuff that had been played relatively recently, but yes, that'd be welcome.

If they played Folk Death I would... be extremely content/do something crazy.
I've not had the pleasure of hearing Christmas Steps live yet, nor Ex-cowboy. They played no CODY and minimum Happy Songs last time they were here. Very naughty. But on the other hand they played almost the entire new album. I wish they could play for longer.
How about Stanley Kubrick. And I pray for Ratts.

I also welcome Kubrick onto the setlist. Also Satan which I haven't heard live since 2001. Stereodee is probably impossible to request these days. Tracy is a another one that Id like to hear live.

I'd love them to play "Ex-Cowboy", too. Plus it'd be lovely if they got a brass band on stage for "Burn Girl: Prom Queen".

Katrien and Superheroes of BMX for me!
Edit: and 2 rights with those cellos they had in France 2001. That sounded so good.

Unrealistically, Katrien, A Place For Parks, Sterodee and anything they rarely play. Some covers would be nice too.
Realistically, I fancy Christmas Steps, Ex-Cowboy, Helicon 2 with Barry-flute and maybe Fear Satan.
I'm waiting to see how many of the new tracks get a live outing before I get excited about oldies. I suspect the sets will be dominated by the Hawk and Hardcore. But that's fine by me.

If the goal is to play a lot of the new album (and it seems to me like most of it is playable and would sound great live) then I wouldn't be surprised if Hawk gets nearly shut out. In my dreams I would hope they figured out how to play Sun Smells to Loud and/or Danphe and the Brain, but I'm not getting my hopes up

I repeatedly asked if they'd play Katrien at one of the shows I attended in 2008, after they'd done the Young Team shows. No joy, sadly. But yes, Katrien would be more than welcome.
I was listening to the new album in the car today thinking exactly what bobbob said - that most of it sounds playable live to these non-musician ears. If anything, Mexican Grand Prix sounds the least playable and we have to assume that'll appear if it's a single.
San Pedro will undoubtedly take on a life of its own live.
Brass bands, flutes and cellos.....not asking for much, are we? I live in hope of one day getting to see Burn Girl Prom Queen played live.

I'm still waiting to hear Tracy. Though, preferably without the dialogue.
Ex-Cowboy would be wonderful. I haven't heard that come out in a few years.
Others would include: Rage: Man, Ithica, Folk Death, Kappa, Emergency Trap.
I would be good to hear anything off the new record, and def think most of it will translate well in a live setting. Rano, Thatcher, San Pedro, and Werewolf are especially enticing at this time.

Have they been playing Ithaca recently? at just over 2 minutes long it should find its way into every setlist - cant get better bang for the buck than that
I still hope someone will pay them to play all of cody at some point - I would travel anywhere to see that!

As far as I'm aware, the only tracks they've never played are Oh! How The Dogs Stack Up, Chocky and punk rock/puff daddy/ANTICHRIST. There was one report that they'd played Chocky at a ahow in Madrid in 1999 www.youngteam.co.uk/brightlight/eng/gig160599.phpbut I've never been able to confirm this.

Tracy is usually (always?) played live without the dialogue. Rage:Man has never been played live, as far as I'm aware. Stuart did post here a while back saying he thought they'd played it live once. Emergency Trap got played live a grand total of twice.

Not one mention of Ratts of the capital! Not been played live for ages, unquestionably one of Mogwai's best songs and phenomenal live.
A recall to the starting line-up is long overdue methinks.....

There are youtube vids floating about of performances of Tracy from the last tour, and they had the phone call dialogue playing along. SOng carries itself without, imho.

Given that Mogwai have been rehearsing the whole of the new album, and Stuart's comment on Special Moves/Burning "drawing a line under the band’s first era", maybe the setlists are going to see even more of a cull of the golden oldies than we're expecting?

I hope not. I think its generally worked on past tours with a good 50/50 mix of old and new. I really hope the live versions of some of the new songs give them a bit more of a 'live band' feel (and yes, i know that is a faintly ridiculous statement) Cos im finding the sound of the new album really hard to warm to (And have pre-ordered it in case anyones wondering)

"drawing a line under the band’s first era", I wonder where this line will be drawn? Pre CODY and post CODY maybe? For me, a live show should be greatest hits and more greatest hits plus new stuff.

For me, a live show should be greatest hits and more greatest hits plus new stuff. ...whereas I'd always prefer to see a band play an obscurantist fans favourites show, or at least be obviously making an effort to keep the setlists nice and varied.
