I find Mogwai is used most extensively in the field of Channel 4 documentary trailers about child abuse.
Actually, on that subject, have Mogwai been approached by a filmmaker to use an EXISTING Mogwai track actually IN the film?
I'm thinking of GY!BE in 28 Days Later style usage but also Close Encounters being used in Sex And The City (TV series).
Is it the case that a film needs more(?) permission to use a track than TV shows or trailers?

What effects pedals did the band loan Pavement in Glasgow the other night?

I have no idea. I'm guessing that their gear was held up because of the ash cloud and they just needed bits and bobs. SB

Two questions:
1. Any plans to bring Remember Remember to any future scandinavian dates?
2. With "Special Moves" soon to be released are you planning to record every future shows in case of capturing any kind of magic?
Cheers.

Cheers. 1 To be honest i haven't even seen any mainland european dates yet so we're a long way off deciding who's opening on them. One thing i'd say is though that considering the current Remember Remember line up has 8 people the chances of them being able to to do support tours without losing a lot of money are pretty slim. 2 Yes, John was talking about recording all the shows the other day si there's a good chance it'll happen. Very simple question; Can you please put some XXL T-shirts up on the shop? I'm 6'7" and 18 st, no way is a XL shirt going to fit me, and I want to fly my Mogwai colours (esp the Yellow shirt, or the Scotland one). No worries if it needs to wait for the tour in 2011 if some are going to be available then.
Thanks in advance.

Any chance there will be another compilation of BBC sessions? Or maybe a complete boxset of them? Some of the sessions not included on Government Commissions are fantastic...

I think that we'll probably do another BBC sessions record after the next album (presuming we're asked to do a session by the BBC). I'd rather choose the best recordings than put them all out to be honest. SB

Stuart...would you consider playing some of the older songs live....like Stereo Dee and Rage Man... I've always wanted to hear Burn Girl Prom Queen live, but I'd guess the chances of that are pretty slim. Half Time would be amazing too. I Chose Horses? Kings Meadow? Stuart - how much would it cost for us to get Mogwai to play a one-off show of stuff you've never (or rarely) played live?

Heard something about them never doing Stereodee again after the intensity of the Manics support shows. I would have loved to have been there!

Well, since we're asking I would love to hear Danphe and the Brain live sometime. Also Christmas Steps with a strings section. Rob, you might be joking, but hiring the band to play a one-off "Brightlight" show would pretty much top my entire existance. The only question would be what side of the pond to have it on!

Good question....I guess an appropriate venue would be Nice N Sleazys in Glasgow..we could all have a nice cider-themed get together..White Russians (the drink lol) goes for 2 quid on Weds..if I recall...

He played the Dundee date on that tour, his first live appearance with Mogwai, then the Radio 1 show in Newcastle a few weeks later, then every show since. So in other words, most of the Manics support shows were a four-piece Mogwai.

No way you could get away with a secret show in Glasgow, it would have to be in the middle of nowhere, like Utah. Or Liverpool.

Stuart... Mogwai means ghost/spirit in Chinese ("Mogweii").. do any members of the band have any personal ghost stories?
Also.. why was 'Star Wars' considered just an outtake or B-side? It was (is) incredible!

To the Band: In this version of Helicon 1 (which is my favourite), you wear some cool Adidas-esque Celtic green Firebird tracksuit tops. Were these ever on sale or were they made just for the band? They've got the myt logo where the adidas one should be, looks awesome. I had to buy a shitty green one when in thailand when i saw it because of this, no myt logo however!

Yeah I know Adidas still sell Firebirds, I was just wondering if the ones with the MYT logo were ever on sale/will be on sale sometime via the mogwai shop. Thanks for the link though, might have to get another one.

As I say they're not 'Adidas-esque' they are actually the Adidas ones they're wearing. And no, they've never been on sale and pretty unlikely they will be via the shop.

Just curious: Is there a rough time frame for some tour dates in mainland Europe yet? Or, at least, will you be touring Europe first before heading over to North America next year? Sorry, I'm trying to get my holiday planning for 2011 done and I wouldn't want to miss out on Mogwai...
