Is there any chance there's more footage of this concert collecting dust somewhere?

What makes you think it's from that show? I'm with James, I reckon it's the 1999 show - multi-angle, pro-shot footage?

I'm sure it's from the 2001 show. Mind you, in the video Dom has no beard, the pic in 1999 he has. Martin sports the mohawk that was also spotted at their Reading gig 2001. And if you read the reviews from the 2001 gig they also mention Stuart jumping out of his skin after Dom started to pluck the infamous chords in "Xmas".

To any of the band, or anyone used to playing gigs with heavy dynamics: how do you work out your sudden bursts of distortion/loud delays? Do you dial your effects so that there isn't much change in the overall decibels, or does your sound technician know when to change his input volumes on the mics?
I've been wondering about this for quite a long time!

As requested, we're going to revive this thread, I've contacted Stuart over twitter and he's willing to answer your questions. Remember, there will NOT be any Sigur Ros collaboration! So ask away!!

Given the amount of touring you've done over the last year, have you had any time to work on new material (next album/ other projects)?

Any plans to remaster other albums after CODY? How chuffed are you at having Codeine play with you in May? They're one of my most favourite bands ever, and their albums re-issue package is going to be awesome.

Any plans to remaster other albums after CODY?. And what are the plans looking like for the CODY re-issue? Do you have any plans to do some CODY "Don't Look Back"-type shows? Cheers

Do you need to/ will you rehearse before the May/June gigs or do you just wing it?

Does the band personally pick the artists for the tour posters or is that handled by management? Some of my all time favorite gigposters are for mogwai shows (aaron horkey, todd slater, chuck sperry)

1. Would the band consider doing one or two 'fanclub'-type shows with a set-list voted for by us? I know there has been some chat about that on these boards before.
2. Any chance of doing another show on a scottish island like all those years ago on bute?
cheers.

I know you aren't keen on working with guest vocalists these days but are there any female vocalists you'd like to record with? (Beth Gibbons?!)

Have you ever heard of Italian minimalistic pianist/composer Ludovico Einaudi. If yes, what is your take on him? I know he is very much open to interesting music collabs.

Hi ! I have a lot of questions.... of course 1/ on the musicradar video explaining your live gear, we can see that John uses several distorsion pedals. Is he using them sometimes together? Is this how you get this fantastic guitar sound in San pedro @2.26mn? 2/ in "jim morrisson" it looks like Barry doesn't play the piano gimmick, how is it done? that's obviously a recorded track, but who decides when it starts playing? is it some kind of computer punch in? 3/ could you give some advice about which vocoder to choose? yours seem ok 4/ how come aren't there any official mogwai fan club? 5/ all mogwai shows I went to ended in a big and unbelievable wall of sound, how do you get this? are you turning all your effects on? Thanks a lot if you take time to answer all of this and thanks a million time for your music which is bloddy brilliant !! cheers!

To the Band: In this version of Helicon 1 (which is my favourite), you wear some cool Adidas-esque Celtic green Firebird tracksuit tops. Were these ever on sale or were they made just for the band? They've got the myt logo where the adidas one should be, looks awesome. I had to buy a shitty green one when in thailand when i saw it because of this, no myt logo however! They were regular ones that we got the logos sewn on to. SB

At what point in your musical career were you able to begin to make a living from being a full-time musician? We managed to pay ourselves (modest) wages around the release of Mogwai Young Team through money we got from our then publishers Chrysalis. SB

Any plans to remaster other albums after CODY?. They're good. There is a lot of good unreleased music so it should be a good project. And what are the plans looking like for the CODY re-issue? Do you have any plans to do some CODY "Don't Look Back"-type shows? I don't think we will. SB Cheers
