my boxset has just turned up on my desk, from Chemikal Underground. packaged in a card mailer, double wrapped in bubble wrap, in a post bag. this wasn't getting damaged! Yes - noticeably better than Rough Trade's packaging for the Slint box which received a distressing dent en route (15% discount was appreciated, but couldn't overcome the disappointment).

Mine arrived...very happy with this boxset. bonus material sounds fantastic and think the extended artwork and sleeve notes are great. Time to speculate over the Rock Action boxset

Anyone know anything about the 'Cava live' tracks...they sound great but were they demos for the record or just a show with an audience?

from the cd's booklet: " Kappa and Helicon 2 from this session were recorded live with ambient mics in cava's main church hall" (by Stuart)

That's a good question. It does seem out of place unless they were planning re-releasing it. But were the cava live tracks ever being considered for releasing on the album, or just for demoing?

We just thought it'd sound cool in the church. The joys of innocence.

Can anyone here comment on the pressing quality (and overall sound) of the 4xLP? Still on the fence between the vinyl and digital versions.

I'm going to have to answer my own question here. Man, is this thing ever great. Took me a while to get it, even longer to get my TT set up again and actually listen to the LP's. The pressing quality is above average, the music... I'm sure everyone here already knows about that. I really hope they do this for Rock Action as well.
