The Instagram era indeed. In five years time we'll all be laughing about it as much as we do MySpace nowadays. Sadly the days of folks bothering to submit anything to me for use on BL are long gone, so I grab what I can. I like to think I'm providing a useful service still but maybe the site's had its day. MySpace was usful but a totally different thing. I've no qualms with you using it, it was the condescending tone of your post that irked me! To be honest, despite visiting the forum (and even the main site sometimes) it wouldn't even occur to me to submit it.

Rob, you seem to have an e-mail contact with Stuart and co on a okay basis. Why don't you ask them if they could send the setlist for the concert to you before or after the concert in a e-mail? Because they're working.

Wow, you've got the wrong end of the stick. Because its a shitty photo of a printed but of paper I wouldn't think. As soon as I saw your enquiring post I was going to, then I saw someone had shared it. All good. Then I saw your moan about the shitty filter on my photo. Descibing that as condescending isn't a personal attack, you seem cool here and on other forums I see you post on, it just felt like it was taking the mick a bit.
Luke played in Auto Rock as well right, he played guitar? For yr gig listing page.

I made a general observation about the impact of Instagram on the quality of photos being posted online? As you say, enough.

I think I was trying to fend off some annoying drunk Germans who'd barged past me by that stage. There was plenty of barging past where I was standing, plus the awkward experience of a young couple snogging and practically dry humping during 2 Rights Make 1 Wrong!! God forbid... I might not drop by too often in years when Mogwai play only one English gig, and release little new stuff, but it's good to know you're there in case I do miss something (the track on the Occupy album for example).

By 'proper' you presumably mean 'expensive'. No way I can justify 35 quid a month, sorry. My eight-year-old Motorola sends and receives calls and texts. That'll do me fine. I think I have the same phone as you. I hope it doesn't die because I don't have a lot of time to be training pigeons. I'm very excited for the upcoming tour. PLEASE keep Sine Wave, Stop Coming to My House, and Stanley Kubrick in the rotation. Preferrably heavy rotation. I'll likely catch Toronto and Detroit this time. Can't wait. Last time without Martin behind the kit was good, but not quite the same. Oh, and Rob, don't think your work on BL! isn't very much appreciated. Also, it seems pretty clear that the band use the gigography to help plan setlists, too. And I agree it'd be a bit much to ask for the band to send them at the end of every show. Plus I like the sense that you're getting reports for fans all over the place. Besides, the only time I recall the band putting setlists up (Mr. Beast tour), if I recall right they required corrections, ha ha. I guess they're not as obsessively geeky about their own band as a real fan is. Thank god.

I'm the furthest thing from an insider, but I've seen them play in the same places enough that I'm pretty sure they try to avoid excessive song repetition, and I'd assume they use BL! to do that. I think I may even recall one of them saying something to that effect, not sure. Could be totally off on this, I suppose. And yeah, I'd assume this happens some time shortly before the show. Or something.

Even the battery hasn't shown any sign of failing. Not bad considering it cost me £35 inc £20 airtime in (roughly) 2004. Thanks to those of you who've commented about your use of Brightlight. I was knackered after a long weekend and pissed off because I appeared to be being dragged into a wholly unnecessary argument. Thankfully it came to nothing. Ref the band posting setlists - did Twitter even exist in 2006? They were posting lists on the Hawk Is Howling tour.

I seem to recall one member of Mogwai telling me he was using the 'forthcoming gigs' page to work out where he should be and when.

If you're after setlists over the next few days, check the blog rather than the gigography - very busy week with very limited access to the net.

Ref the band posting setlists - did Twitter even exist in 2006? They were posting lists on the Hawk Is Howling tour. I know very little about Twitter. The 2006 setlists were being posted on a special site they had set up just for that tour, called 'Tour Beast', or 'Team Beast' or something like that. It was quite the bizarre site. The sum of its features seemed to be some setlists they posted, and a map with a graphic of their tour bus that indicated at any given time exactly where they band were at that moment. At the time it looked every bit as ludicrous as it sounds now. I'm pretty sure I didn't just dream that, athough I guess I wouldn't be totally surprised if I actually did.

Great work with the site, Rob. I'll try my best to report about the Mexico City show next tuesday.
According to Joselo's blog (Cafe Tacuba's guitarist), the band asked for a framed Princess Leia picture in their dressing room .
